I know the son gets 2/3 and the daughter gets 1/3. But I think the context wasn’t explained on that part as the conversation shifted to husband and wife’s role in their marriage.

It's always been a blessing to heare you! But this lecture is just a paradigm shift for me. In Pakistan clergy ands every body hates the word feminism let alone the movement. How beautifully she shifted the whole narrative game here by not denying feminism at all but by embracing it and intertwining it with Faith to make it undefeatable and more powerful! That's why our ummah needs more woman scholars like of Sheikha Haifaa Younis. JAZAKALLAH U KHAIRAN!

What is the definition of equality in the Western construct. For us to be sincere to this definition, it has to have a religious construct. The West doesn't do this Feminism is one example. Its construct sees equality as both physical, social, etc. If we accept the word feminism as Muslims, then we have to apply an Islamic definition of feminism. We cannot rely on the Western definition to be truly practicing this Deen

Do u still share the shares equally if the male doesn't uphold the dutiful side of looking after the female? We live in reality over here. Ppl have different circumstances. It's not all clear cut.
@yuckk.kАй бұрын
That's a different thing- if you live in a non muslim household and you're a revert, then it is likely the family will split shares the way they do it in their culture. My husbands family is not muslim & him and his sister will get equal shares since his sister is not muslim and doesn't want the islamic way and provisions from her brother.

How & why this movement started??? We Muslim need to look into this because we may fall into these. Number of Muslims leaving Islam. "Instead of competing with brothers, sisters need to compete with the HUR".
@salemakamal55853 ай бұрын
What you on about. A woman competing with the hur of jannah, is like telling men to compete with the male servants of jannah. Does that make any sense. Btw the beings in jannah are not human in the same way we are.

@@tokkiliin Because he is your provider & protector. He agrees to support/protect his wife financially, physically and emotionally. If he does his part in accordance to Shariah then we as wives have to obey our husbands. Simple. That doesn't mean he gets to assert his authority unjustly. There are conditions for him.
@yuckk.kАй бұрын
Obey (in terms of following, toeing the line, militarism) is امتثل "Amtathal' but Ta3a means more "complying, agreeing, abiding" which has more of a harmonious and pragmatic meaning. In the Quran the verse of obedience uses a different form of obey in Arabic. يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَمْرِ مِنكُمْ 4:59 It uses "atieua۟" or "wa'Atieu" which is a different form of Obeying in Faith or believe. Basically unconditional obedience. Which we only save for Allah SWT and to an extent Nabi Muhammed SAW.
