*Some extra notes:* 1) I wish I touched on Valorant's success and how I believe it helped in the creation of CS2 by getting Valve to make a move. (Everyone wins here) 2) I did not realize that CS2 made changes like reducing Round Win conditions from 15 -> 13. I thought Valorant took that from CS 3) Friendly fire is kind of lame but even as a new player, it didn't effect me enough to feel it 4) I hope the overall video comes off correctly. I enjoy both games, like both games and respect both games for their pros and cons

The friendly fire is used to punish bad positioning for a team. It also helps the opposition to isolate 1v1 when multiple enemies rushing in. More factor that focus on gunplay, like you said in the video. Great job catching the essence of both games 👊

CS2 changed a lot of things from CSGO to make it easier for VALORANT players to transition (Halves were reduced from 15 to 12 rounds, buy menu was adjusted and the AWP ammo nerf a while ago). But it didn't change anything core to the experience, besides better smoke physics.

If anyone likes Valorant esports I strongly suggest to watch CS2 esports. I started playing csgo after finding out about its esports, and even tho nowadays I mostly play Valorant, I always try to find time for my favorite cs2 esports teams games. Production is very carefully crafted, casters are energetic and capable of stringing story to the action so smoothly and don't even get me started about chat - participating or reading gives such an enjoyable experience, whereas in Valorant everyone afraid to say anything (especially in GC games), there is timeouts for the most ridiculous things, don't even get me started about how in Champions finals everyone was limited to 1 message per 2 minutes....

One of my biggest reasons for sticking with cs after trying valorant was one i was not a huge fan of abilities being the main draw (never was for tac shooter always felt it fits more in OW and TF2 style gameplay) but the absolute nail in the coffin which sounds nitpicky is cs just felt smoother to play, in the movement and the aim, but i also have an undying love for bhopping so that definitley will lean me towards cs but wonderful video!
@hobosnake1
@hobosnake1 Жыл бұрын
The movement is a much bigger element in CS. Movement in Valorant you don't even have to think about. It's dead simple to counter strafe. No real bhopping or movement quirks like source offers. Not hating on Val, I love both games, but yeah I agree. The movement is just so fun in CS.

@magnekjeldmark6838 no offense, but that is one skill expression for one character. I'm mostly talking about the game at a fundamental level. The movement accel is faster in cs and takes longer to decel, making counter strafing have way more room for error. It's the overall movement that I feel is more fun. But your point is exactly why I love Val as well. Val has tons of quirks at a character level you can learn. It's not easy to aim and spray control in valorant like most other shooters. I love valorant too, I just have a slight preference for CS. Just depends which friends are playing which game at any given time.
@boinqity4621

honestly any competitive game not in source or source2 is already a negative for me, im just so used to the movement and i love the fact that in order to even do things as simple as turn mid air you need to learn tech for it. thats something that always felt missing in games like ow with almost no momentum, especially considering how important it is in tf2. if you can get moving quickly as soldier theres almost nothing that can stop you from reaching your target, where in overwatch even if youre charging as rein a lucio boop still pushes you just as far

The main thing that makes CSGO/CS2 a better esport / competitive game over Valorant and Mobas is that there are no set roles. Your potential in every round is not limited to which Agent / Hero / Champ you picked. Everyone has the potential to kill everyone through sheer skill alone, not just because you have certain abilities per your in game character. Anyone can pick up the awp and 1 shot kill anyone, anyone can land that lucky Deag, everyone has access to the same util and anyone can bring back a 12-0 game back because your opponent won't have a stack of Ulties to just finish you off. The moment one player has access to something no one else in server has, it's already unfair /unbalanced.
@chungsteroppa
@chungsteroppa Жыл бұрын
One major difference I feel like between the two is imo the movement. CS is more "fluid", and smooth which, imo actually makes it a bit harder compared to Valorant. Valorant on the other hand is more "stiff" feeling because of the lack of the need to really counter strafe. You can just let go of your movement key(s), and more or less stop right on a dime. Because of the faster "feeling" movement in CS, I feel like, it's harder to track player models, and land your shots.
@SynthesiZR
@SynthesiZR Жыл бұрын
I kind of agree, however I feel the stiff movement kind of makes it more lifelike. in real life, you are not going to see a guy jumping around like a bunny to get a "speed boost" although Valorant is basically the opposite of realism. I feel like it takes more creativity to come up with a game like Valorant (yes I know they took inspiration from CSGO, however it's a game mode and they did not copyright it. Thats like someone creating a game about tag, and then saying any other tag game "copied" them.) I feel like the Valorant movement is a touch more realistic than the CSGO movement. I have played both games. 3000 Hours in Val, 237 hours in CSGO, and I can say I prefer Valorant. And the skins, although I can pay 8k for a Mid skin but I can invest and potentially "double" my money, I prefer to pay $20 (to own permanently) for a better skin and not make an investment. However, there are a couple agents whose movement out preform CSGO movement, Raze, Neon, and Jett are good examples. Also, the animations in CSGO and CS2 just look weird.
@polyento3535

It was weird for me 'cause for some reason I practiced counter strafing on Valorant from watching too much streamers, so when I play CS it feels natural for me to counter strafe. Both are fun games though and different in some ways.

@@zweeper As someone who's played a good amount of both, I actually prefer Valorant over CS. I feel like a lot of the time when playing CS, when I shoot, and aim for someone's head, my shots will miss. It feels like the exact opposite for me in Valorant, if I aim for someone's head, I'll get that shot on target pretty much every time. Not entirely sure what it is, I guess CS is meant to feel/play more "realistically", but it just feels more rewarding I guess(?) in Valorant for me knowing that the headshot is pretty much guaranteed as soon as I get my crosshair on target on the person's head.

You bring up some great points in the middle there. In CS its very hard NOT to take 50/50 duels, which is why i think it takes an especially good player to avoid them. Its much harder for utility to give you that advantage in a gunfight which is why basics and fundamentals like positioning and team play/trading become so much more important. This is why i think its so easier for CS players to go to Val, but not vice versa.

The main reason i love counterstrike is there are so many situations where your ability to move around the map fluidly with boxes you can crouch jump on, little ledges you can walk on and use to boost into better positions. Also the fact that you can stand on a players head to get into specific positions. I know valorant has some of that but its so much more limited in scope. Most boxes you cannot jump on top of unless yoi hava an ability that allows you to which defeats 90% of the satisfaction of getting to those spots

good vid but I just want to add on the whole skins part. When cs players say things like "my knife doubled in price" it's not necessarily meant as "csgo skins earn you money". It's more meant as "I paid for a skin I like to use, and now that I don't want it, I can just trade it and get my money back". Basically, there is a steep price to get csgo skins, but you'll almost always get at least a portion of that money back, if not nearly all, or more if you're lucky!

You're absolutely correct. Valorant demands a higher level of sophistication in terms of strategy, especially when playing as a team. The additional abilities introduce a need for careful consideration of utilities and power usage. On the other hand, Counter-Strike (CS) places greater emphasis on the mechanical aspects of shooting, as it lacks agents and special abilities. Those looking to improve their performance in either of these games must be willing to adapt to the specific requirements each game presents.

Valorant and CS are for completely different types of people. I absolutely hate the "CS vs. Valorant" debate cuz neither side is correct. CS is definitely more balanced in terms of, everyone has the same opportunities. (except for T side AK vs. CT M4's) Valorant is a much more interesting game to play and learn. Learning CS is more frustrating because you can't just go "Haven't mastered this agent yet," or "That agent is so OP." It's always much more clear (in my opinion at least) what you did wrong in CS. Whereas in Valorant, you just get killed by someone who teleported behind you and you just got unlucky. I honestly prefer CS just because of the balance factor, and the movement is satisfying to master because you have a distinct advantage when you master it, unlike in Valorant where multiple agents can just do things that others cant. Clearly I'm biased towards CS, but Valorant is usually what I'd choose to play with friends. CS is much more of a solo queue game for me. Really good video!

I've been playing CS for nearly 20 years, and I've played a fair share of Valorant, climbed to high diamond when the game released by playing a handful of games, since then I've had to smurf a lot to play with friends and it's always an annoying experience for a few reasons: Characters are painfully slow in Valorant, and the models are huge, so it's much easier to land shots overall, meaning you'll be hit a lot by people who are honestly much worse than you. Also since the characters are so slow, when you start getting shot you basically stop to a halt, EXTREMELY ANNOYING when you're being wallbanged, since you can't get out of the way and the walls are paper. Also how EASY utility is. It's honestly extremely upsetting to constantly be smoked, flashed, stunned and so on because it's so easy to execute, most characters you just THROW it. For example Breach's flash or Reyna's 'flash.' You compound those two things together and it can be a very upsetting experience.

In regards to "taking 50/50s". I don't think that iy is any more acceptable to do in CS as in Val. 2 reasons it might seem that way is 1: CS movement, simpler map design and basic utility makes the advantages harder to notice. (micro angle changes, timing etc) and 2: since there are no roles, playing for trades/strategic double swings are more commonplace. They look like 50/50 until you've been in that situation late round with no util in the map

There simple things I dislike about valo since swapping to cs: If not 5 stack can’t guarantee roles Sprays are random Abilities have been getting crazier and crazier (was Phoenix at the start, now you guys have reyna (who used to have 4! Yes 4 orbs, and now you have iso who can gulag people every few rounds) Cs is a “cleaner” and more simple game, yet the skill gap between the good and bad players is so much bigger than valo as nothing is really hand held like it is in valo. I liked the idea of valorant when it was announced but the way 99% of abilities are the same as csgo but restricted per agent instead of countering, stacking ontop (unlike csgo with smoking a Molotov, nading a smoke, etc..) alongside some ultimates being impossible to counter without certain agent preselected before the game even starts doesn't sit right with me... Csgo is purely about aim, working RNG to your advantage, calculated risks, abusing rotations, and reacting to opponents. (IMO) Valorant is in a weird spot where it tries to be beginner friendly with lots of eye candy to keep people engaged while being competitive which creates a chaotic mess which isn't easy to follow for beginners or hard to cast/spectate at a professional level.

I started with valorant into these kind of games, the last 2 - 3 weeks i started playing cs2 because a friend wanted to play. CS2 is not perfect but some things i realy like more than in valorant is 1. as you said gunplay feels more natural 2. everything is a lot more simple and not that hard to understand, except a few things (playing around awp, i am to bad for that) 3. it doesnt feel like its that sweaty, not even in faceit. Cs2 needs a lot more mechanical skill and less thinking which is refreshing(no offense). What i think valorant does better though is the ranking system, why the fuck can you derank on a win. Also well the anticheat is better as we all already know. And my third point, and the csgo players here will hate me for that, is i like the valorant skins look way better (sorry).

tbh i was played both game, i remember when my firts try valo its make me full 100% focus because its a diff compare to cs and didnt know any info about the game..i full aware about corner maps and etc. and yea thats so easy in my firts try, i can get headshot even i didnt worry when inside viper ulti in 1 hp bacause in my mind u cant win viper if u headshot her so i put 50:50 chance, its so easy for new fps taste game like me.... so fastforward today i didnt play valo again cause yeah i exactly a noob, i know all agent skill and maps but yea its very diff, too much happen when take site as a team, bird flying, a shadow human decoy, a dog bite, its too much, and i didnt focus or aware at the game anymore when i play valo rank.. too much to think possible way to happen... if i play valo without any abilites i can put any chance to win gunfight..and a skin yeah i didnt mention it, skin in valo tbh its cool the animation its so crips but as a f2p player to me its a big no no to buy any, u can just ask ur teammate to drop skin if want to taste that... and yeah i back to cs, firts didnt much too happen, u can put any chance in gunfight or position gameplay (i mean no flying bird,etc. just 5 utilities in cs), and skin, remember i f2p player, in cs u can have a case and skin drop and u can sell it in steam market to make steamwallet to buy other thing in steam, me as f2p player is a heaven, i remember buy discount phasmo with just sell my case,... and u will ask me, u must buy a prime cs? yes for today, back in the day its free just reach lvl 21 for free prime and i count as old player and get that free... and now i buy prime cs in my second steam account with just selling my case to get more case in other account, get more case = get more money... so yeah that my honest opinion, both its good, both have a good taste, both have own community, both have own value and last big setence is BOTH IS DIFFRENT.. thank you

the last point he made about skins is a little misinformed cuz valorant you cant resell your skins where in cs you can so when you spend your money(witch does tend to be more than val to get anything good to be fair) that money doesn't get thrown away into the game. it still holds value and you can resell and get your money back or get something different I've made over 1k in trading and reselling. witch I will agree invest in something else but only if you don't play the game and don't have a now how of how the market works. skins back in 2017 that were 125$ are now upwards of 1 too 2k. so for me I hold onto things that have consistently gone up in price. now id say even if you play the game and haven't gotten into skins at all, then I wouldn't suggest investing now cuz prices are way to high to get started with anything good. unless you go with cases or capsules witch have a higher return on investment but over a long period of time.

9:12 I feel like you should never use money on games but we all do it anyway xD so... In my opinion Valorant skins are objectively better, the animations and the 3D models give you more ''content'' than just a painted default gun. Of course CSGO has the market and the patterns and floatvalue but the market for example is not the skin itself. Its not the item you will be using ingame. So i hate when people argue csgo skins are better because of the market. And valorant skins are expensive but csgo skins are 5 times cheaper (probably even more than 5 times) And if you gamle its 20 tims as expensive so everyone has the think for himself if its actually such a big game changer. (But sellings skins is pretty cool though)

ah yes, invest $400 in S&P 500 instead of buying a knife, huge profits, like $40 after 5 years is literally insane man. If you'd invest $400 in 2 butterfly Fades 5/6 years ago you'd get just small pocket change, only like $5000, go invest $400 in S&P 500 yea/ I mean there's some right in what you say, if someone is saving up big amounts of cash in a span of 20+ years then they obviously shouldn't dump in into cs items, but that's literally not why people invest in cs, it's not long term low risk investing but more like short term high risk investing, S&P500 and CS are literally uncomparable

The CT Side has objectively worse weapons than the T Side. That is because the way bomb defusal modes are played is inherently CT sided. So to counterbalance that the CTs guns are worse. Valorant doesn’t need that, because the abilities don’t make it CT sided anymore

Valorant is just too slow imo. The running speed in valorant feels like walking in cs. I also hate that you can't effectively jiggle peek in valorant and instead have to 'jump strafe' to get info safely - it just feels awkward and gives away your position. Speaking of giving away your position, sneaking around in valorant seems fruitless half the time, with ults and abilities letting players know exactly where you are. The simple act of shooting a sova dart or cypher trap lets the enemy know your location, completely removing the element of surprise. Those tense moments of a 3v1 where you have no clue of the enemies position are rare occurences in my experience. Anyways, great video!

You walking so much in counter-strike deathmatch is an indicator of Valorant's footsteps being obnoxiously loud (for the size of the maps), coming from someone who plays both games. You can literally have 4 players making footstep sounds that cover the entire map in Valorant. This is a huge issue I have with the game - it forces people to rotate way less in Valorant and commit hard into a particular site more, and thus resulting in way less strategic depth than CS.

If anything friendly fire makes it more fun. There's just something about taking 2v1 gunfights against a guy that beams you when suddenly your teammate circles around, slaps himself in front of you meatshielding, crouches and you shoot just over his head. There's a whole set of mindgames around "spacing", since being huddled together can both be good to annihilate someone you don't like at all (fnatic 4 awp middle peek on dust2 or any dualies banana rush ever) or it can be disastrous because of HEs and friendly fire as one guy makes a slight positional mistake and slaps his noggin in front of your barrel(s) (pushing A long doors on dust2 or... any dualies banana rush ever, honestly.)
