i feel like they are cutting on kayo way too hard, 2.00 --> 1.25 is such a huge nerf it will make the right hand lob unusable, and the overhand wont be much better than its current state, as the issue with it is the pop takes way to long to flash, as opposed to the right click

Tbh it kinda feels like a buff: - unequip delay 0.1s longer, yeah whatever - base duration at 1.5s, but scales to 2.5s + the hawk is indestructible It seems that we'll see a lot more fake flashes as they are way more dangerous now - they can't be destroyed and scale up to 2.5s. So throwing flash, peeking, then popping and entering site may become way stronger strat than it is now.

Only the movement duelists made sense to pick, as initiators had better flashes + all their other util was more impactful. These changes will help differentiate flashing duelists from flashing initiators. Also Astra was definitely overpowered in her prime, and I LOVED abusing her back then, she needed a nerf desperately.

Kayo flash is going to be pretty much useless in ranked after this nerf. Even the worst silvers can look away from his left click unless you have some pro lineup for each spot on every map which no one has.

Kayo and Skye flashes were undeniably super versatile and therefore powerful when compared to their duelist counterparts. Although this is inevitably going to be unpopular with Kayo and Skye players, it is an overall good change for the health of the game. The reason Skye and Kayo have such versatile flashes is so they can benefit their team with them but they, specially Kayo, have become a form of pseudo-duelists as a result. I think this promotes more teamplay and communication between Initiators and their teams rather than, for example, a Kayo pop-flashing around a corner at the start of every round and losing their team valuable utility by dying to the 4 people they peek (because they don't have an escape ability to get out in case somebody played anti-flash or was around a corner). That being said, we still don't understand the full extent of this change and it will take time to realize the true effects of this patch.

Yeah but from experience kayos team flashes realistically provide very little value because the duration is too short for most solo queue lobbies to be able to follow up on. The 1/8th increase does basically nothing to help this, and this agent has just been deprived of the best part of his kit, the pop flashes, and will likely see way less play in favor of duelists or true initiators such as breach or fade

KO flash is hard to work with a team of randoms tbh and having the option to popflash and be an off duelist i think was great for him as his whole kit honestly feels quite duelist like. Love the skye changes tho as i hated having to "pop flash" peek as skye as i felt as her i can benefit the team a lot more than just using it personally.

yeah this is just a strait nerf, idk i think kayo flash should have some use for the lob, as this change would make it unusable, as the reason that the overhand is so bad is it takes way to fucking long to pop, they could just cut down on the pop time on the overhand and maybe make it 1.75 for the lob and that would prob do it

As a skye player, I think the changes will probably be fine, maybe even good. Pop flashing with skye is very strong though it was almost required to pop flash since your bird could be destroyed. So although it’s annoying that the flash duration is shortened, I think it’s balanced by the fact it can’t be punished for sending it out further.

Playing Breach as a team-based duelist is better than most initiators anyways. His abilities can single-handedly determine the outcome of a whole round more so than any other initiator except maybe Fade.

This is so unpopular I think but Fade needs a nerf as soon as possible. So why is it that Fade is able to have so much utility for her kit and the community is fine with it, but Astra was deemed by community as broken. Fade is just straight up busted and needs some adjustments since getting debuff chain is not fun at all

She’s arguably the best initiator now, because all of her abilities have no downsides to her or her team. She doesn’t have flashes so that means she can’t flash her own team. Breach has an ultimate where he can stun his teammates but Fade’s ultimate does not affect her team at all. She is much easier to play than Sova too.

Windup basically means how fast the flash starts taking effect, so when Reyna uses Leer you will be nearsighted after .4s instead of .6s. And yeah idk why .5s is considered instant, but that's how they worded it in the patch notes too.

Because Riot is balancing the game around competitive play. Since characters like Reyna or Yoru or Phoenix aren’t seeing picks in competitive play, they are overlooking the need to nerf them as a result. It’s such a flawed outlook. Kay/o is garbage in solo queue but in eSports he’s decent as well timed surpressions can decide the outcome of a round. But you obviously cannot communicate that in solo queue so it’s pointless over there.

I think these changes were somewhat planned to go live with the Phoenix ones a while back since they're all to do with flashes, but maybe they didn't want to completely change the meta right before champs so just changed Phoenix? Doesn't make much sense regardless as the Cypher buffs are well overdue, but I imagine that's the case at least for the Fade nerfs

He kinda needs some very minor buffs, because at the moment he is only a niche pick on pro play. On ranked though he is said be be quite good in high elo and shares Neon's position of being one of the hardest agents to master, at least according to Riot. So a buff for him might be to lessen his skill floor while also increasing his skill ceiling, that way he can be played easier by low elo but can also become a more viable pick at pro.

No just no stop right there. If Reyna flash gets the buff you mentioned. To counter it should only flash Reyna camera view. Team mates should also get flashed then

The nerf is directed are pro tournaments but it negatively affects Kay/o to the point where I’d consider it a troll pick.
