I see Chuck is the only one from the original founding members left. Remember watching them on TV during the early 80s. Glad to see you're still with the group, Chuck. Actually watching you guys perform inspired me to take up the trumpet in high-school band (back then) - Chuck, I wanted to play the tuba, but my dad wouldn't allow me to get one...He thought I was out of my mind and looking back in retrospect, I don't think I would have been able to get that instrument on the school-bus.

I don't know why it took me so long to find this, It sounds amazing. Playing with a brass quintet is one of my favorite things to do (and is a dream of mine to do proffesionally if and when possible). Well, for one, I don't really appreciate it when groups have pre-recorded music, then pretend that they're playing, when clearly they're not. That does bother me. Other than that, they're better players than I'll ever be.

CUMPLEAÑOS 94' DEL MAESTRO ADRIAN FLORES ALBAN EL "ALMA, CORAZON Y VIDA" DEL VALS PERUANO Por: Raul Alvarez-Russi Si hay un Vals Peruano que ha sido cantado billones de veces en algún recóndito lugar del mundo...ese es "Alma, Corazón y Vida" de ADRIAN FLORES ALBAN...autor y compositor peruano nacido en Sullana-Piura en el norte costeño del Perú (1,020 km. Aprox. de Lima), un 8 de Setiembre 1926, sus padres fueron Eusebio Flores y Felicita Alban, quedando huérfano a la corta edad de los diez años ..."pero siempre tuve personas buenas que me guiaron por la buena senda" rememora con nostalgia Desde temprana edad, se sintió atraído por la música y guitarra Peruana. Muy joven trabajo como albañil, cosa que lo enorgullece y nunca lo oculta, y pudo conformar y criar a su familia cuando la formo en Lima años después con su esposa Veronica Olaya y sus ocho hijos, 5 varones y tres mujeres, las tres mujeres viven en USA y uno de los varones en Puerto Rico. ES UNA LEYENDA VIVA que con toda su sencillez y don de vida, esa alegría que lo mantiene lucido totalmente, recordando anécdotas positivas del criollismo peruano donde el es uno de sus principales actores, sin hablar mal de nadie, ES UN EJEMPLO DE VIDA!. ademas es muy cuidadoso con su salud mucho mas en estos momentos que vivimos del Covid-19. . LA HISTORIA DE ALMA CORAZON Y VIDA...Tenia 23 años cuando se enamora de una joven, corría el año 49, era una sencilla muchacha; por problemas económicos en su hogar, la obligan a aceptar en matrimonio a otro joven que se había convertido en protector de su pobre familia. Cuando le comunica por carta su decisión, Adrián vuelca toda su tristeza en la guitarra y nace uno de los Valses Peruanos mas bellos y sentidos... "Porque no tengo fortuna/ estas tres cosas te ofrezco… "Alma, Corazón y Vida y nada mas" Decepcionado por esa pena de amor viaja a Lima a finales de ese año 49', en la ya bulliciosa capital de Perú que entraba a los "apachurrantes años cincuenta" ...Las canciones viajan solas porque su "Alma, Corazon y vida" ya había llegado a la Capital sin el saberlo y haber intervenido en ello...cuenta que salia de su trabajo al pasar por un restaurant del popular barrio de la Victoria, escucha los acordes y canto del querido Vals Peruano de su cosecha...y ahí se da cuenta de la importancia en la composición (ya tenia cuatro temas compuestos) y decide hablar con los tríos mas populares en esos momentos (y leyendas actuales de la Música Criolla Peruana) para que se lo graben, con el primero que hablo fue con Oscar Aviles de Los Morohucos corría el año 1953, al escucharlo Aviles no le tomo mayor atención al joven obrero Flores Alban, y fue a verlo a Romulo Varillas del trío Los Embajadores Criollos, iba a correr la misma suerte pero el joven Flores Alvan se armo de coraje tomo su guitarra y con el sentimiento a flor de piel le canto "Alma, Corazón y Vida"... quedando Romulo Varillas impresionado y exclamo "Este tema va a ser un exitaso""...Y así fue, lo graban en los míticos estudios de IEMPSA y Los Embajadores Criollos con "Alma, Corazón y Vida" se cantan en todo Lima, Callao, Balnearios y el Perú entero lo canto y AMERICA ENTERA se rindió ante este poema de amor de pueblo. En uno de mis viajes a Lima principios de la década de los ochenta lo contacto en el Hospital San Bartolome de Lima donde trabajaba en el área de mantenimiento, increíble que un compositor del calibre del Maestro Flores Alban que también es un virtuoso con la guitarra y con el tema que lo grabaron por el mundo entero no viviera de sus regalías y seguía trabajando, como el decía "si dejo de ser albañil, dejo de ser famoso" con una sencillez y humildad que nunca dejo. La sorpresa de los cantantes españoles mundialmente conocidos Raphael y Dyango, cuando grabaron "Alma Corazón y Vida, estando de visita en Lima lo quisieron conocer cada uno en diferentes oportunidades y fueron al Hospital San Bartolome no lo podían creer que no viviera de su famosa canción, ademas tiene otros valses peruanos "Como una Visión" y mas de 70 temas en genero peruano muchos de ellos ineditos. Los homenajes se tienen que hacer en vida y esta cumpliendo 94 años totalmente vigente, ya retirado de su profesión de Maestro Albañil del cual el siempre se ha sentido orgulloso y que pudo mantener a su familia con su señora y ocho hijos, cuatro de ellos músicos, un ejemplo de dedicación que el le puso ALMA, CORAZON Y VIDA. Con una sencillez y lucidez, totalmente vigente el Maestro ADRIAN FLORES ALBAN esta celebrando sus primeros 94' jóvenes años. LOS HOMENAJES SE TIENEN QUE HACER EN VIDA Y ESTA GLORIA DE LA COMPOSICION PERUANA QUE TODO EL MUNDO CANTA CON ALEGRIA SE LO MERECE!!! AL RESCATE DEL VALS PERUANO!!! Nota: adjunto este escrito del periodista Raul Alvarez Russi que publicara en su página de Faceook en setiembre 2020 en el 94 cumpleaños del gran compositor peruano ADRIAN FLORES ALBAN.
