I remember when I was about 6 years old, I would go to my uncles house, and always would be super excited to see his entire collection of the Star Wars hung up across his entire wall! I would ask him if could open one, and play with it, but he always said no because they were collectables which at the time I did not understand what he meant by that. Now when I go to his house the collection is gone, and not on the wall anymore, and I don't know what he did with them, but if he still has them, and didn't give them away or had sold them, then he could be rich. Let me say he had over 100, but I could be exaggerating because this was all the way since I was 6, but who knows.

Stuff is selling. It's just not always right away or overnight. When it doesn't sell in a reasonable amount of time, then discounts can help move the items. Better to get most of what the value is than have it sit in a bin taking up space. If it is a hot item, it will usually sell within days or the first or second week. Beyond that, usually means whatever it is, is not overly appealing to bidders.

One of my friends owns a sports card memorabilia shop. One day we were sitting there watching the Saints play and a regular customer comes in. He asked my friend if he could stash his Star Wars figures at the shop while he was moving. He didnt want them to get damaged by another box or misplaced. Of course my friend said yes. We did ask him if we could look throgh them and he said please be careful none of them were opened. I'm not a Star Wars fan and liked Star Trek and thats a fight for another day. Lol. A couple of days later he called and I answered the phone. He was letting us know that he was running late and asked ifI could stay there till he made it to get his stuff. I said sure man, I have some money for you too. He said Money, money for what? Oh we went on and put them out to sell for you. Man at $10ea those things were flying out the door. We even had to put a 3 per person sign up!!! I think that if the Incredible Hulk was real, this guy just turned into him. But hey, he got there early and I didn't have to stay late. Lol. No we didn't sale them and we only looked at a couple. We knew that it was a ton of money in this huge box. He said that his grandpa bought him 1 every time he went to the store. He must have went a lot, there was at least 1,000 of them in this big dishwasher box.

I remember a while back when Pokémon craze hit a fever pitch, a snack company came up with Pokémon pogs featuring the original 151 creatures. They'd stuff them in chip bags so you'd have to buy an ungodly amount of chips in order to get or trade your way to a full set. Needless to say they were quite abundant and rather worthless once the novelty wore off. However, since nobody really thought to care for them and apparently being a Latin America promotional campaign only, they became quite valuable among avid collectors. Last I heard, a full good-condition set sold in 2019 for approximately $12,000. Big money for literally a snack goodie. Cheers!

On about May 8th, 2022, my Mother took me and my sibling to a local thrift shop. My sibling was browsing through the teddies when suddenly… I spotted her… An exact copy of the Princess Diana Beanie Bear! I checked the date when it seemed to be created: 1997… It was a collection of the Princess set. Surprisingly, I quickly remembered this episode. And luckily, the bear was only being sold for $2.50! I persuaded my Mother to let me purchase it. “I’m so lucky.” I thought to myself! Although, I checked here again, this beanie was only P.E pellets…

Yeah but you get to the point of becoming a hoarder and pretty soon you get to the point of never being able to throw anything out. I still have my original Commodore Vic 20 that I bought back in the 80s because I was always a big technophile and never had a lot of money back then, so for me to throw that out now would be like throwing out the 200 bucks it cost me brand new 40 years ago when the minimum wage was $3.35 an hour. With something like electronics antiquifying so quickly with respect to other collectibles it makes sense to want back what you invested in it in the first place.

In elementary school I traded a Blue Eyes White Dragon card to a kid and immediately regretted it. He wouldn’t give it back and ripped it up in front of me laughing. Jokes one him cause I now have 6 Blue Eyes cards and a whole binder of yugioh cards that worth a lot. 🤔I wonder how much my old pokemon cards and gameboy color is worth.

@14:00 Remarkably dumb quote - "Now with Star Wars evolving into a worldwide phenomenon," umm... I think that was the 1980's, not 2022!
@jasminealana19046 ай бұрын
A worldwide phenomenon that I have yet to see. At 44 years old I'm thinking at some point I'm going to see it. In the interim. I was gifted some Star wars board games. They're pretty good shape I don't know if they're worth any cash though
@davealan56856 ай бұрын
@@jasminealana1904 I was referring to popularity of the movies, not the price of the merchandise. With the huge popularity of the movies came a huge flood of merchandise to match, so not everything is valuable. I actually had original movie posters for from the first movie - ones hung in the Theater, but I don't keep things in collector condition and they became torn over the years. They were the ones marked as "These must be returned to the publisher" or similar, but they were gifted to me as child by someone associated with the studio after they were returned. I like conversation pieces, but collector pieces aren't something I tend to focus on.

Here's something I hope folks read, before throwing this item away! Check your attic, garage, storage bin... If you happen to still have that old, beat-up rubber soccer ball you used in your soccer games between 1965 and 1982, DONT THROW IT AWAY, it could be worth some money. WHY? Because if it was used in soccer games, then there's a high probability it had a thin polyurethane rubber carcass (not thick vulcanized rubber). So, if you got one that you have not thrown out, and it's very worn (forget about it holding air, this is not important right now), and it was used in soccer games over 40-50 years ago, than it could possibly put at least (I said at least) $100 in your pocket. Here's the details. Size 5 Very worn (don't worry about it being flat) Was game used in late 1960s / 1970s (not a backyard kickball) Does not have "dry rot"! Minimum $100 for each ball! Who would have ever thought old rubber soccer balls could be worth anything!

That charizard card is also such a higher price tag than others because its a Beckett graded 10, 1999 first edition shiny charizard, and with it being a grade 10 it's the only one in the world (there are a few psa 10's, however Beckett grades much harsher, and the probability that another one of these cards will ever be graded a 10 by Beckett is slim to none.

years ago, like back in the early 2000s, I got my older brother's old pokemon card collection. At the time I didn't take care of the cards as I do now. I just left them on the floor until my mom told me to throw up away. She now regrets doing so and I regret leaving them on the floor and tapping them together. I'm older now and take better care of my cards. Have them in binders, sleeves, and one card in a top loader out on display cause it's signed by Eric Stuart! It's a gold full art Brock trainer card that my cousin bought at my very first ever con that I went to! That's one trainer card that I will not be selling or trading away. It was a gift from my cousin.
