When I went on KZbin to learn more about who she was, she already had tons of highlight videos generating millions of views. IMO, the idea that CC's fame started with the LSU final is just false. I'm from Iowa and have been watching Caitlin play since her 2nd year at Iowa. She is special! Her style of play at Iowa was magic to watch. She engages the crowd. Her step back threes with a swoosh (she never rims it) are electrifying and crowd pleasers. She is an unselfish team player as you can tell by her assist numbers. Her passing game alone is worth the watch. She can be aggressive, and she is a trash talker like non-other. (She is not a pretty princess). But she always has time for the kids! I do agree that there’s a racial component but I’m sure it would be there anyway as girls don’t seem to really like each other. The sisterhood celebration when a female succeeds is resereved for celebrites or women they don’t know personally . They get so jealous when one of their social group does well, Its like they see that success either as somehow translating to a failure for them, or something they are more deserving of , but don’t get the credit for. - "Don't try to understand women, women understand women and they hate each other." - Al Bundy

I'm a 90's white kid who grew up in the Chicago suburbs. My entire (STAUNCHLY conservative) family adored Michael Jordan. The man was practically a god to me. In fact, I specifically remember a 1-2 year period in my childhood where I wanted to be black - just so I could be like Mike. My parents have always maintained that he's the perfect balance between competitiveness and class, and they were both thrilled that I chose to idolize him, and not some drug addled rock/rap star. Stephen A. Smith and his comments both make me nauseous. We've obviously reached a point of peak absurdity when it's become normal for actual millionaires to complain about their struggles to an audience that's almost guaranteed to be far worse off than they are. I don't think words are capable of describing how tired I am of hearing people whine about their race. You're the biggest name in sports media, Stephen. Please try to have some dignity. At some point doesn't your pride kick in and scream "NO, STOP DOING THIS TO US"?

Ehh... It's not like leaving Michael Jordan off the Dream Team, Clark signed on to the WNBA 2 months ago. Jordan was signed to the Dream Team in 1992, 8 years into his NBA career with the Bulls. Caitlin Clark is one of the best college athletes of all time. But the USA Women's Olympic basketball team has won like 7 gold medals in a row. I think they know what they're doing (i.e. they're more interested in winning then increasing viewership).

Jokes, but the U.S. would be so infinitely better off if we'd focus much more on stuff like basketball & raising successful families than spending way too much of our time & mental/emotional bandwidth on social & political issues. Especially as "issues" don't really exist any longer, it's just lists of current talking points that my side says to & about your side...& all I know for sure is that I'm to spend all day every day lamenting how the other side is ruining everything & how our side is getting everything right. I wish we could go back to the way it was when I was younger (I'm only 48 btw), when most folks understood it was socially impolite to discuss your personal political leanings with others....because it is impolite, because it definitionally cannot be done without achieving our current destination.

It's a marketing game. Whether or not ANY of this is genuine, it's working to keep them in the headlines. This biggest problem I see is that NONE of Clark's team has her back. Somebody needs to step in "if" these fouls are overly aggressive/over the top! No need for explicit retaliation, but step in the middle of those flagrant foulers, and remind them it's a 2-way street, and backup your teammate.

@manny.3248 3 ай бұрын
Before you push a narrative, you should know what you're talking about. Matt McClung is not in the league because he has challenges in defending against versatile wings, limited effectiveness in defensive strategies, which are prevalent, and his general size. He used to be on Lakers on a two-way contract at the end of the 2021 2022 season. I remember when him an Austin Reaves who went undrafted just like him but the year before, balled out in the last game against Utah. They both have the same skin tone, and Austin Reaves is still on the Lakers along with Colin Castleton. There is only one sport where skin tone does matter, or at least used to, and its baseball. They strategically pushed blk players out of the MLB back in the day. That's not an assumption either.

When are we going to wake up and see that evil forces are trying to pit Black against White? We are all Americans. Just like in basketball, it's all about teamwork and respect for each player's skills, regardless of their background. Let's focus on the game and the amazing talent both Reese and Clark bring to the court. Basketball is a beautiful sport where diverse players come together to achieve a common goal.lets keep the ugliness out of the game. In the same way, our society should strive to work as a cohesive team, respecting and valuing each other's contributions. Let's do better, America!
