I can still remember a time when the Oscars were hosted by courteous, professional, highly respected, high caliber, highly talented entertainers - Johnny Carson, Bob Hope, Jack Lemon and Sammy Davis Jr. to name a few. Fast forward and look what we have today. A few words come to mind including callous, insensitive and political puppets. Perhaps I am old and old fashioned in my ways, but I think Hollywood and the Oscars have to seriously rethink these award ceremonies among other things.

Robert Downey, Jr. has more talent in the nail of his pinky toe than Jimmy Kimmel has ever exhibited in his whole life. He should be applauded for the way he was able to turn his life around. It's no joke. Especially not to his family. I remember watching a hearing on TV where RDJ told the judge "It's like I have a gun in my mouth and I like the taste of the metal." God bless RDJ!!!

Respect for R D Jr. He took that very well and even had a couple of come backs. I feel bad for the guy, he openly admits his issues and they go after him non stop.
