I love learning from you Dr. Lori! Why did jewelers stop using these larger clasps in favor of the tiny lobster claw clasps and the round on. Now that I am older the little clasps are difficult see and use so I can't wear my jewelry when I want.

OH NO!!! Go get a new big clasp… I know those small clasps, while easy to hide, are difficult to open and close. It’s worth it to go get a bigger clasp put on so you can wear your bling!!!

I know this is an old comment, but I agree with Dr. Lori- invest in larger clasps. We did this with my mother's jewelry & it made a big difference for her! She invested approx $450 & was able to enjoy her jewelry until she passed away last year. Now it is my turn to enjoy her pieces:)

May I please ask you this...not that I have any family heirlooms but...when you tell folks something is worth...insert price...how would they be able to sell the item? Where do you go? Thanks! First you have to know the value and what you really have. Don't forget that! Otherwise you'll never sell it for what people really pay. You'll get someone to buy it from you at a low price because they know and you don't. People use my online appraisal reports to help them sell pieces. For example one person used my report to help them sell a plate for over $1,000. They paid $1 for it at a yard sale.
