I see why they would want you to disable this feature, a malware author could start the game after VAC scans the drive for cheats, put the computer in hibernate mode, modify the addresses of shared objects, and then take it out of hibernation with the cheats loaded. Interesting, as I'm pretty sure if a cheat was clever enough to use hibernation mode to load cheats I doubt they'd have much of an issue of forging whatever check Dota uses.

@@izzylie Wasn't talking about how VAC works, was pointing out how cheaters could use hibernation as a way to load cheats in - Which would be pretty easy to make work.

I have Powershell open like all of the time. Good to know that this could get me dissconnected by VAC

In my scenario, I dont even get a chance to find a match. VAC just instantly appears, Ive tried alot of solutions none had worked. This anti-cheat is hella frustrating

I just got this message, it freaked me out. Close the game and Dota was updated, hopefully that is the end of it.

I had the same problem and tried literally everything, Finally got it working after going to dota's game files and deleting the "bin" folder and after that verifying game files. Hope this helps :)

Deleting the bin folder is just like uninstalling the game.

I used to start the game directly, but since the update this VAC notification always showed up, but it didn't showed up if i start game through steam, i'm not computer savvy, so i dont understand why this would happened

Plus... Since the update, dota 2 is the only game that force closed or crashed, other game is working just fine even in highest setting, i tried to validate integrity not found anything suspicious
