Was the car smoking under the bonnet/hood for you to require this maintenance? I may need to do this for my 2E Corolla because of smoke.

There was a big oil leak coming out of the valve cover gasket. No smoke, but I guess with a big enough leak the oil would get on the exhaust and smoke.

My 89 with the 3e is leaking badly, looks similar to this.

Been having so many leaks on this car in the past year. So many old bad seals and gaskets.
