Nice video, one question: Are the "normal" versions of the swords going to be available in the future as well? I mean could I go to the website in like 5 years and still buy them? I am currently attending school and these are pretty expensive but I definitly want one in the future, so will they stop making these swords in the future and can it happen that none of them will be available like it is now with the damascus versions?

Florian Falkner Valyiansteel.com owns the rights to be able to make these props for quite awhile. I don't remember off the top of my head how many years but I'm pretty sure that you would have no issue buying one in 5 years. Damascus is worth so much just cuz they made so few of them and never made them again once the limited editions sold out. So yeah, I wouldn't worry if I were you, you definitely have a lot of time (years) to save up for one without any worry of them just not making them any more. And I'm sure if they were going to stop they would let everyone know before it actually happened. Hoped that helped you out a bit!

I actually have arround 1450 dollars saved up, but idk if I should spend it right now on swords :/ I thought about getting a pc because mine is relatively old and not capeable of running games or stuff like that. It's only good enough for watching videos etc. I looked at Jaimes sword, because it's the one I'd get first, but I really doesn't look that well made compared to the others :/ So I guess I'll only get Longclaw. (Would have loved to get Roberts warhammer but it's not available R.I.P)

Florian Falkner Don't get Jamie's Sword!!!! I held it once to see if I wanted it and it was so badly made. It literally rattled when I shook it. The handle looks cheap and plasticky.. You don't need to buy anything right away man. Just put away a bit of money every month and you'll be able to get it in no time. Every now and then HBO shop does promos for game of thrones merch. I'm pretty sure thinkgeek.com does the same thing as well. Just keep your eyes open for sales and stuff man

I really want the Catspaw dagger just for decoration and being able to look more badass while opening letters haha. Is the blade sharp enough to cut paper? I'm just curious since you said it's the sharpest amongst them. I'm also afraid that since a part of the handle is made out of plastic that the dagger might look/feel like a toy Whats your experience with the handle?

Nemanja Cvijancevic yeah it can cut paper. It would be a great letter opener lol. Honestly the handle looks plastic, it's not half as nice as the sword hilts. Personally I think that the blade and plaque make up for it enough that it looks like an expensive collectable rather than a toy. If you have the money buy it, but if you don't get it don't feel bad. I hope that helps abit lol

Thought about buying one of these "swords" but the more I researched the less attractive these replicas looked even as wall hangers. Majority of them are made from stainless which is garbage, and like you said only one is full tang. Especially for the ones made actually made of high carbon steel costing $700-$800 USD. For that price you can buy a real fully functional sword that looks better than anything this company has to offer.

great collection you got there, but about the ice replica and the thing you said about the tang. It is still not safe to cut something with it. Stainless steal is too brittle and would eventually break. It might be more secure in the handle than the rest, but still not designed to do anything but hang on the wall. If it was made of carbon steel with a tang secured at the pommel it would be another case.

Valyrian steel.com calls the swords either Damascus steel or stainless steel, buuuuut if you look on the website it states that the stainless steel swords are actually made out of 1060 High Carbon Steel. Which helps if you wanna sharpen it up lol. You're right tho, these things should be displayed only:P

Does anyone know why they don't just do full tang? I know they're meant for wall hangers but I feel like just playfully swinging it around would just be stupidly dangerous because people say the blades might just launch out which kinda sucks. But I feel like adding the rest of the tang would cost literally nothing so why don't they? Hopefully someone gets back to me on this hahaha

Billy Mclaughlin historical European swords typically didn't have a full tang with exception to the messer. They would have a thin rod that would taper so the end would stick through the pommel and then peen the the pommel the grip and the guard together they were functional but modern wall hanger tangs are thin rods that dont taper and are threaded at the end and the grips are often hollow. Real functional reproductions would probably cost twice as much but hey at least they didn't use shitty stainless steel.

Bucanneiro Thanks man, I appreciate it! Back before I had any of the swords Longclaw was the first one I saved up for. I recommend it as a first sword because It's just so iconic, its larger than regular swords because it's a bastard sword, and overall it's just really nice. But really, It's personal preference. Get what you're going to want to put on your wall the most! --side note. Those are both good swords because scabbards are available to buy for both of them

Ned starks sword, Ice, is not a great sword. It is a long sword with a very wide blade profile. A great sword is huge, not in width but length. They were as tall or taller than the user and they are differentiated from longswords in that great swords were used primarily to break up pike formations. Ice is just an unusably wide long sword. It seems to me that oathkeeper is really more of an arming sword with a longer handle.

I wouldn't sharpen any of the damascus stuff either, but definitely don't sharpen and hit anything with the ones made out of stainless, stainless is a very bad sword steel and more than likely full tang or not you're gunna break it.

Google image Damascus steel to see some pictures. It has a rippled finish, almost like a design. Rather then just stainless steel which essentially looks like a normal knife or sword. People love the Damascus steel because it looks more like “real” Valyrian steel rather then a normal steel sword. Hope that helps!

SuperMadman48 it 100% is. It's such a unique look, and has really nice weight to it. All of these swords arn't cheap, but if you want one and can save up for a while to get one, you'll love it once you get it. What's really cool with Oathkeeper is that there is also a scabbard available if you want to buy that down the line after you have the sword.

No, there isn’t a sharp version for any of these swords. If you want it sharp you’ll have to sharpen it yourself. Although the tip of the blades can spear bottles and similar things.

Ehtesham Saeed You won't get hurt if you are careful but there is no reason to train with them. First of all they are made of stainless steel. If you proceed to swing them at like a rock they are going to break. If your purpose is to train get a sparring sword.

So you can collect them and for some reason if you want to get rid of them you can usually sell them for what you paid or sometimes more depending on the rarity of them. And if you don’t want to sell them and really enjoy them, a couple hundred bucks for a sweet piece is far from a rip off
