Thank you so much for this video, Dr. Dray! I had the second PRP treatment on my face this past week. Here is Europe, it is cheaper. I did get a big bruise under one eye and looked like I got sucker punched, but it's thankfully healing well. I had the first session months ago and at the same time I revamped and simplified my skincare routine and went heavy on sunscreen, you'd be proud, and so could not tell how much of the skin improvement was from what. I remember having to look at a cutout of Kim Kardashian with a bloody face at the "spa" down the hall from my office. Dr. Dray, I just wanted to say thank you for all your videos. I had my first appointment with a dermatologist a couple of weeks ago. Honestly, it was disappointing. Felt she spent more time talking to her colleagues on the video chat. Maybe she was having a bad day. It made me think though you should do a video on how to prepare to visit the dermatologist, what to look for and maybe when to run and how to be a good patient? Apologies if you've already done a video on it. I got the 4% hydroquinone for melasma that goes up to under my eye. She told me to be careful and I asked if I should use petroleum jelly under my eyes. She said it was a great idea...yeah, that I learned from Dr. Dray!

I had a course of PRP treatments after a knee surgery following ACL tear, and the results were very good. The healing process was pretty fast, and the scars are barely noticeable. I also noticed the waiting room was always full of older women, waiting to get PRP shots for their arthritis. I don't know if it helps. This is in Europe, where PRP treatments are much cheaper, so for example I had 7 for my knee, and my insurance covered it.
@vetsai81993 жыл бұрын

@@SanSan-ng1kg Thanks! Certain surgeries, such as on tendons, ligaments and other connective tissues, can be slow to heal bc there is no blood supply to those tissues. The PRP is so helpful for that, but in most cases, insurances won’t pay, unless you are in danger of “loss of use” to the affected joint. So glad it worked well for you💖
@SanSan-ng1kg3 жыл бұрын
VE Tsai Thank you. In my opinion, PRP should be considered preventative care, given how much grief, pain, medical staff hours it will take to tend to the poorly healing joints, for example. But hey, I understand that's not a priority! On a lighter note, never tried PRP on my face bcs I'm chicken 😂, but I always wanted to. Now I am intrigued, I didn't know plasma can also be applied topically, after micro needling. Learned that from Dr Dray - thank you as ever, Dr!

Some brands of acai packs put in added sugar (not so good, but fine every once in a while). Some don’t have added sugar (good). That being said even though acai is a supposed “superfood” (air quotes bc superfoods is a silly marketing term, all foods can be super in lesser or more amts), it’s antioxidants/vitamins etc can be found in other fruits and veggies. No need to feel pressures to buy acai if you can’t afford it, but if you like the taste I say go for the unsweetened kind. I know Sambazon has an unsweetened version (and a sweetened version, so don’t get it mixed up)

Hey Dr Dray! I love your videos, thank you for making skin care and protection so available. I have a question about tanning - I wear LRP SPF 50+++ everyday, apply a good amount, and reapply (almost) every two hours, but I still see I'm getting tanned. I have no issue with being tan cosmetically, but I'm confused as to why I am still when I'm wearing good sun protection. Is this concerning or normal? (I'm Mediterranean, I think a FP 3, if that helps.) I just hope I'm not doing anything wrong and harming myself?

Does your sunscreen have high zinc? It should have a 20% zinc to be effective.

should I avoid topical tretinoin prior and/or after for any period of time?
@eglebadaraite57063 жыл бұрын
Yes, no any kind of retinols before procedure. I can’t remember for how long tho. I had it done about 4 years ago and when they asked me if I use any creams with retinol I didn’t even know what that is back then 😆

Anyone doing this should give you before and after instructions on what you can and cannot do including putting things on your face. You'll need to avoid actives before and after.

Hi, I'm about to get the PRP microneeding done, One thing I don't understand is how do you protect your skin from the sun after you leave the office to get back to the house?

Is PRP necessary. Wouldn't your blood from the vampire facial already have platelets.
@vetsai81993 жыл бұрын
It does indeed, BUT the concentrated platelets are separated out, so you get nothing BUT platelets!

I’m interested in PRP to improve my under eye area somewhat. Is PRP considered more effective when injected under the eyes or when used in combination with microneedling? I had one scarlet rf microneedling treatment and it actually made my eyes look worse so looking for another alternative. Just wondering if I should be looking for someone that uses PRP with injections or with microneedling. Thank you!

Thanks Dr. Jay. Just an FYI. I was quoted 800 for 1 treatment so price varies. I'm in bucks county Pa.

Hi Dr. Dray! Is there any evidence that putting numbing cream on before a microneedling procedure reduces the efficacy of it, or negatively impacts the final result?
@db-gb5xi3 жыл бұрын
Some folks who microneedle say it can.

going for a plasma PRP tomorrow & that's what the esthetician told me..but since here in the comments some have commented that it hurts..😮 she'll be using a derma pen 1.5 depth & she did take out the new tip & tried it on my arm..felt fine. Will see..tomorrow . Have some Rx Lidocaine creme I got thru my dermatologist & am tempted to put it on before my appointment..Hmm, she said it creates a film/barrier on the skin. Think am going to bring it..just in case. Wish me luck😅

Dr. Dray, what is the smallest size needle that can be used with PRP? I had a series of prp + microneedling sessions and they definitely worked on 52 y/o skin. All the lines when I smiled on my cheeks from my mouth to my eyes went away. It’s been over a year and they are starting to come back, a little bit. For me, needles are painful and this procedure hurts. The numbing cream helps the microneedling, but doesn’t help the pain of every injection. Also, I end up with a bruise every other time. I just did another session last month and plan to do one more soon.

I recently did pro cell micro channeling with human growth stem cell. Better than w/ prp in my opinion. I have hard to stick veins and this avoids sticking me.
