@Haydea04 There are actually 22 books in total, 11 having been translated into english so far. The author is named Hideyuki Kikuchi. The first book was turned into the first movie and the third (Demon Deathchase) was turned into Bloodlust.

@SaltiCat0 I have yet to read the book corresponding to the movie used for this AMV, Demon Deathchase, but from the other two I have read I can tell you this. They can get a tad verbose but they give much more backstory than either of the movies. So, in a word: yes, the books are worth the read in my opinion. I do believe there are 22 at the moment with a collection of short stories. However, to my knowledge, only 11 of the novels have been translated into English.
