Don’t forget bedbugs. They literally suck your blood and leave you feeling not only like you’ve been drained by morning, but they can cause insomnia. Which can drive a person crazy . Craziness can lead to a lot of psychological issues.

I think modern media did a disservice to them, by making them look like the fashion bloggers of the monster world, removing that aura of terror and doom that accompanied them in their folkloric origins. People should be scared to death by the prospect of meeting a vampire, not... Enticed...
@monstermash8047
@monstermash8047 5 жыл бұрын
While I agree that I miss the pure bad ass vampire stories, with the right type of plot a beautiful vampire could be even more terrifying. They entrap the victim and pull down the defences before feeding on them. This could lead to some very tense scene. But the whole "I want a vampire as a boyfriend/girlfriend" bullshit is tiring for an old school horror fan.
@jacopoarmini7889
@jacopoarmini7889 5 жыл бұрын
@@monstermash8047 I think vampires shouldn't be pretty by default, as I like the few times they are presented as a real, terrifying threat, and I'd love a lovecraftian-esque representation of them. Of course there could be those who feign beauty to entrap their prey, but I think that, as the embodiement of the fear of disease and contagion, they shouldn't be pleasing to the eye, but rather give the sense of impending, inevitable death.

I can certainly see the value in your argument. Still, I believe that vampires, like any fictitious creature, can be depicted anyway the author wants them to be. I suppose the people who made things like Twilight, the Vampire Chronicles, True Blood, etc. just find the idea of being in love with an immortal creature of unnatural beauty enticing. Maybe it hasn't been to do with the idea that vampires are sexual predators. Maybe it's just that a lot of teenagers nowadays go for "bad boys." Who can say.

Probably. An interesting story though that makes vampirism less fictionous. Especially the part of the mother that killed the baby as if the mother killed the child then buried her out of the little humanity that existed. My opinion is that vampirism is a blood disorder which called for red blood cells to be regularly attained. Whether the individual is undead or not is beyond me.

Christopher Lee was the one who gave Dracula his dark, seductive charm despite the said character appearing one dimensional by Bram Stoker and the dumb storylines written by Hammer Films after the first movie came out. Bela Lugosi was also sinister in addition to being eccentric, although I always felt like he was quite playful, while Count Orlok from the Nosferatu movies looked outright disgusting. The Twilight vampires were a real headache in addition to being ridiculous and annoying.

@alucard8433
@alucard8433 4 жыл бұрын
Im pretty sure in Werewolves the Alpha would just be the leader of the pack, Maybe the strongest/ fastest of the bunch. For Vampires do not really think it would be considered an Alpha per say unless you consider the Original Vampires who turned hundreds of people into Vampires to work under them. I can definitely see there being the weakest on both sides, like Werewolves that get stuck in there wolf form and lose any form of intelligence they once had. Maybe certain people who become a Vampire by accident might turn more into a Blood Fiend a lesser monster that lives only to feed and loses all other desires then just hunting down blood.

I arrived late for a one man-performance called Dracula. All I could do was sit on the steps and listen from Elfreth’s Alley. Play was over. I saw him walk out w/ 1woman on each arm. I wish I was one of those women walking w/ him. Seeing him brought sadness & longing. He will never know how hurtful rejecting my email & membership from 1 online website could be. Vampires were very op in legend indeed. Honestly my boii, it's not mentioned in legend that the sun destroys a vampire. Legend only mentions that they hunt at nights. Meaning they're probably nocturnal predators. Hollywood and Bramstoker ruined the vampire's image.

There is however a known genetic disorder that causes " vampirism". The person is sensitive to sun light, and drink blood due. From my understanding, it has something to do with how their blood lack's certain components. I don't remember the exact reason behind it. Yet still, it is a very rare genetic disorder, and from what scientific research shows, they still aren't sure where or how it's created.

I'm pretty sure if they're born a vampire things are different than if they're made into a vampire for example born a vampire would be sensitive to light but could still go out in light turn into a vampire cannot go out in light a vampire that's born a vampire doesn't have to drink blood necessarily or at least not until they reanimate

Please keep it up...However, please know that the cross Jesus was supposedly crucified on, could NOT have been made out of Aspen. I am a trained and certified naturalist, wilderness guide and practicing herbalist. Aspen is a very light and brittle wood. It is VERY pithy and soft. No culture would ever use it as a structure for human use/support. Because it is so brittle and unstable. Furthermore, it only grows higher up in high desert to alpine mountain and high altitude climates..All the best and kind regards! :-)

Here's a fun fact about Bram Stoker's Dracula: Bella Lugosi was, in fact, a Transylvanian, but from the Hungarian Kingdom. Also, vampires, called strigoi back here in Romania are phonetically similar with strzyga, derived from Poland and East Germany. The word is derieved from the Greek striga, meaning owl. The fact that modern vampires turn into bats was likely propelled by Stoker because vampire bats where being discovered back in his day. So Dracula should have been turning into an owl.

Blood is symbolic for the energy that flows around living things. It carries vitality and if you lose a lot of it you get tired, just like if you lose a lot of blood... Vampires never literally drank blood, they steal other peoples energy! What happens if someone steals all your energy? you have to get more from someone else, hence why if you get bit by a vampire you become one. It's all symbolic, not literal, but these are stories about real phenomenon.

I wonder if premature burial of people who were still alive and them digging themselves out of the grave is the origin of the rising from the dead legends. They didn't have the technology to tell if someone was actually dead or just unconscious or in a coma. They probably buried people alive fairly regularly and anyone buried in a haste or not deep enough could have dug themselves out so that's why death rituals were so imperative

Have you heard of the Coffin Girls of Ursuline Convent in New Orleans? I heard the story when on a vampire walking tour of the French Quarter. Very interesting!

The castlevania and vampire hunter d portrayals of Dracula have depicted him as a god, which makes me wonder what vampires really are and are truly capable of.

Actually, in Dracula it explains that vampires can actually go out in daylight. But they are less powerful than they are at night. I think the whole "some lights being harmful to vampires" was a later invention of Hollywood.

I don't know... Add bloated bruised purple skin, red sclera, needlelike fangs and mouth splattered in blood and the leap wouldn't that hard to make. The fact is that if vampires were real they would be too fucked up to be mistaken for human. Unless maybe a Dhampir or something. Think salem's lot (and no, not the strain).

Rumor has it that in Lousiana, US, there is an old French quarter that houses vampires. There was a story about a woman who happened to be attacked by a vampire. Also, someone saw a flying man from the French quarters.

That whole consecrated ground thing I’ve always thought was kinda dumb because most vampires you would hear about that raised from the grave, came from a coffin that is buried 6” down in a cemetery which is consecrated ground. Escapes would be kinda hard, trying to avoid touching any of that oh so holy dirt and dust. Thanks for the great video, I really enjoy your content. Keep up the great work!
@alucard8433

I don't think a cemetery would be considered consecrated ground, Maybe at first but over time it would probably lose its protections. Although i don't think Vampires would really rise from a cemetery that is more of a Zombie/ Ghouls domain.
