VAN BUILD PHASE 5 - Maxxfan Dome Install

Follow along as I build my Promaster City van. In this video, I install two Maxxair Dome fans with the help of my friend (and art business assistant) Deanna. We laugh a lot and learn a lot about what to do, and what not to do. Cutting holes in the van roof was definitely a scary process but it turned out great in the end!

Very helpful. Hope your self leveling caulking dried and was water proof. I'm waiting for the weather to HEAT up here in NW MT to install this Dome fan and the MaxxAir fancy two way 14x14 inch fan as replacements in 22 year old RV just bought in Feb. We suddenly have a 4 day hot spell and dry and darn this Dome fan arrived missing half it's parts. The fan is here but no screws, no extension tube, no finishing plate like you show at the end, no instructions, no side cover if you were to put it on the side. And the blades were no longer attached either just rolling about inside the cover. WHAT? So while I work these HUGE issues out with seller who clearly listed all the parts included that are missing I'm bummed. I did want to install both fans at the same time taking advantage of this strange warm spell after weeks of longer than what used to be normal winter to spring season in NW MT only 65 miles from Canada. Oh and my fan did not come in it's manufactures box either. Like yours clearly did as you can see that box in the van floor. WAAAAA. The good news is I decided to watch videos on how to do it and voila here you are showing a great job done. Love it and yes helpful. Well damn they're kind of goes my idea... I kind of just want to have one of these fans in my van that I sleep in when camping just to lower the humidity inside but I don't feel like ripping out my headliner and making a base to mount it to.

Have you tried reverse the polarity to check push and pull air.

if it would be that easy, why wouldnt the manufacturer just put a button there instead advertising that one for just pushing out air.

Hey just wanted to find out how your fan is going so far, considering buying the same as my van is also small. Any issues like leaking or excessive noise?

Yes the fans work great! You can really feel the fresh air flow when one is running and the other is open and off. Still not the same as an AC unit, but nice to have the air flow in the back of the van. Would definitely recommend.

start your van and run the heat on full for a few hours. that'll help a lot.
