For those who don't know this art, it's an ottoman art called "Ebru", which is very widespread in Turkey. All of the materials we use are made by natural products. We mixe the water with "kitre", which is a natural gum (tragacanth in english, I think?) obtained from the dried sap of a plant grows in middle and eastern regions of Turkey. When we've mixed it, we have to let it stand few hours. The handle of the brush is made of branch of rosebush (cause rose has always been a very important plant in islam and islamic art, it represents the prophet Mohammad, like the tulip which reprensents Allah). The bristle is made of ponytail because it absorbs the paint better and drop it quicker than other materials. The paints are made of soil for pale or natural colours like white, brown, etc. and made of plant pigments for the other colours. We add water to the paint (just a little) and gall liquid, obtained from cows (the quantity of gall is really really important, and we don't put the same quantity of gall to each bottle of paint). The preparation of the water (kitre) and of the paints are really important , we prepare it by ourselves. Hope you understand, and sorry if I made any mistakes, I'm Turkish :)
@misskim20587 жыл бұрын
Like many others who speak English as a second or even as their 12th language, you speak it quite well, and far better than the average American. Well done, and thank you for adding the information, which are the natural questions we have about the art. If only more people would learn about other cultures and their meanings from real people, and not the spoon-fed lies they get from their news sources, there would be much greater understanding in the world. One thing most of us have in common, we love our friends and families, we have great art, food, dance, and culture to share, and it's just as easy to have a party together as it is to not get along. We can all celebrate life together, and share our finer points. It's all a choice, thank you for choosing to share what you know of this beautiful art form, it adds a deeper understanding :)

To be honest, that is very impressive. Not only can you paint "The Starry Night" on water, but you can paint Van Gogh's face on water too. The way you created this artwork is just like magic. Also, the first movement from "Piano Sonata No.14", popularly known as "Moonlight Sonata", is a great choice for the background music. To conclude, amazing video! I love it very much!

This is absolutely beautiful. One thing to note: The use of light is a hugely important aspect of Vincent's intent with this painting. To him, light was often used as a symbol of the presence of God. In Starry Night, he very intentionally left the church unlit as a way of expressing that, in his perspective, the presence of God was found not in the church (as an institution), but in the people and in the heavens.

Can you tell us some Van Gogh reference, where it says that in light and darkness, light represents God? What he has stated (in a letter to his brother) is that even in the most desolate natural landscape there is the presence of man. His painting is a frenzied childish play, between light and darkness, between man and nature. Where, nature resembles man and man with nature

I practically cried while watching this. Starry Night is my absolute favorite piece of art and Van Gogh is probably my favorite artist of all time. I've never seen this type of art done before, it's incredible, and not only was the recreation of Starry Night equally fascinating, but to see Van Gough created on top of his art was beyond beautiful.
