Oh heck yeah, Brother Mike!!! Yesssss! You now I'm a Van Halen Freak, and this is.... well.... holy crap! Incredible! How you nail that AVH tone is just crazy. You dialed that amazing kit in again, Brother! And your chops on this.... unbelievable. Crazy good, just like always. A lot of people don't like Diver Down, and the cover thing. The commerciality of it. And this song is one of those... but I always LOVED this song. Edward and Al always had a nutty, crazy good pop sensability that in some ways, drove the band. That swing thing too. This has some of all of that. Awesome song - and Brother... you SMOKED it!!!

Well it ended up sounding a lot better than I thought it would, lol! I always thought this was a cool version of this song, but Eddie & Al both didn't really like it I guess. This is a great song, even if Al hated it and Ed wasn’t a fan. Best version of the song, and that snare was getting more and more iconic! Great cover! Even the hi-hats have that sparkle! I’m a friggin flapjaw, but I mean all I say to you good sir! Just do not stop! I need another DTX kit. My friend has one, so we’re gonna maybe put them together and go as close we can to this! Obviously some great playing per usual, not much more I can say how perfect it is. But what I want to know...do you feel your e-kit is done? Like you got it perfect the way you want it? Is there any upgrades you are wanting to do or any changes you wish you could do? I always wonder if e-drum players think like me and always looking for something better.

Thanks Bryan... yeah, I always dream of doing other things with my kit. It's probably something every drummer does, lol! I'd love to buy some sick shell pack and put triggers in them, then I could utilize these current "octoban" drums as additions to the main kit -- like arranged on a rack outside of the tom rack or something. But of course I worry that I will screw up any DIY project, like converting acoustic to electric. There's something to be said for Yamaha pads going into a Yamaha module, just like Roland going to a Roland module. I'm concerned about abandoning that compatibility too, because it works so seamlessly. What about you? Your kit is so sick the way it is... any pipe dreams like me?😀😀

@nwayDrums I too wanted to convert an acoustic shell pack to electronic and I was well on my way of doing that. It first started with me ditching my Roland TD-30 module for two eDRUMin10 modules (for a total of 20 inputs) and then getting a new Gibraltar rack. But I stopped right there because I was concerned about the bigger tom sizes, so I scrapped the idea. I like the compactness of my current kit (as well as how well they trigger) but I've always wanted a 2nd floor tom, so that's another upgrade I added in. I'm pretty happy with where my kit stands now but if anything was to change, it would be getting one of the new 14" (KD-140) Roland kick drums; but that is purely for aesthetics. I will say using the eDRUMIN modules was a good choice. Took a little learning to get the settings dialed in but I am really happy with it's performance now.

Great as usual Mike! Do you have that Tom programmed special it seems like it registers two hits when you hit it once? The snare sounds great for electronic and similar to Alex too which isn’t easy to match.

Thanks a ton for checking it out Fred! What I did was program to pads on either side of the hi hat to be the same -- a layered sample of a closed hi hat hit and a cowbell combined together. That way I can play the cowbell licks and still play the hi hat 16th notes. I tried to focus the cameras on the hi hat and the 2 pads, but I was amazed at how little you can see what my sticks were hitting, lol! But I'm actually alternating between the hi hat and the two pads in order to integrate the cowbell and play it in one take.
