That's not being gifted, that's playing guitar for YEARS practicing everyday, and having a really good practice routine and a good tone. 95% of guitar players are not talented or gifted, they are skilled, they work really hard for a long time to get where they are, some get it a little faster than others for all dedicated guitar players get to this point sooner or later.

7 years since my first comment on this song, and it is as true now as it was then. They say the highest form of flattery is imitation. When it comes to covers, I believe that the person should make it their own, while still being true to the original. Kent seems to know and understand. Thanks EVH for being the ground-breaking visionary. RIP. And thanks to Kent for all the great covers that pay homage and still drip with his stylistic choices.

Incredible, phenomenal. I'm a guitar player of many years, and I'm blown away. I'm not sure Eddie could've recreated it so perfectly and cleanly in one seamless go like this! Remember folks, what we're hearing on the VH CD is the studio compilation of the best of who-knows-how-many takes. I enjoyed it so thoroughly that I was disappointed to hear the voices come in at the end, b/c they drowned out a bit of your magnificent playing! Would've preferred it w/o that. Thanks!

Dunno why, but ever since I heard this song earlier in 2018, I just can't stop singing/humming the chorus and I'm always hoping that the local rock stations will break down and play this and other Hagar-era gems for a change instead of "Black Betty" or "Radar Love". Honestly, Van Halen's overall body of work with Hagar was something that I didn't know I needed until this year. Just overall very awesome stuff, good vibrations, and the best guitar work out of Southern California to listen to and be in awe of. Every. Single. Time.

Phew. Wow. What floors me are all the subtle details going on such as frequent volume knob adjustment and pickup switch changes. He also does it on other vids such as Ain't Talkin Bout Love. All the adjustments and changes go by in a flash, right in the middle of a solo sometimes. That's mastery. What's maddening is that in a recent interview (search his name) he states that he didn't know any EVH until 2005! 3 years is all it took. Just shoot me now! Here's my gun. You pull the trigg...
