Chrome, as I see it, you took a well-calculated risk and it paid off. Can you imagine what you would be doing right now if you had decided to stay at that camp for more than a month waiting for a shop to work on your van? You wouldn't be in this great hotel room. Your van wouldn't be at Ford being repaired. You wouldn't be getting a substitute van to use while your van is being worked on. You wouldn't be getting your repaired van back on the road in a few weeks. The lesson here is that when a person has the ability to do so, they should always take an intelligent, planned risk to solve their problem(s) instead of sitting around waiting for other people to determine their destiny.

speaking of freeze drying, I recently tried a few, freeze-dried fruit roll up essentially turned into crunchy and sticky fruit paper which was fun. Peach rings were great too, big crunchy puffs & freeze-dried Ice cream is also very cool! It's all "space food" which is kind of the original gimmicky food-turned-tiktokfad. but regardless of the gimmick, still fun to eat.

The hotel is excellent, with a swimming pool and luxury gourmet meals, and you seem happy running around like a kid. You don't have to worry about mosquitoes and heat weather. Enjoy it while you can, and looking forward to you and Cruz in the camper with a high top.

When living out of your van, it just dawned on me that if your van has to be in the shop for that long, you not only had to worry about the vehicle battery, but you have to worry about your house batteries to trusting someone with that responsibility it’s a lot to worry about

... I'm sure an experienced, well trained, and professionally operated shop will understand that. All they'd have to do is run an extension cord to the van during operating hours, and hook up to the Shore/RV power inlet on the side of the van. 👍🏼 Doesn't his van have solar panels on top of it? If it sits outside, which is more than likely to happen, it should get sufficient solar energy from his panels 🤔

I've done 8 years in a mobile home in the UK (long story ) but I just built a house and there are pros and cons to it all I've done 8 hard winters 4 years with no hot water and I'm really looking forward to having a house I've loved my mobile but I'm ready to have a warm safe house

I like Emily's high top and I really appreciate that she answers when I ask questions 🙂 I just watched another van-dweller (Travel Snacks) stay in a South Carolina condo...she is now out of her van and living in sticks and bricks, it had a huge impact on her, she missed the bath, the space, the private bedroom, the in house washer/dryer, the full kitchen, all the bells and whistles - but she never missed them until she had them again in the vacation condo. you can get storage containers that are large enough to double as a bathtub. You could put your juka shower in it and a curtain on large Guage wire to string between your back doors, shampoo, bubble bath, a few candles etc. when you get your ambulance done.

You are so right about cable / satellite TV! We only watch what we want by recording our shows. Then we can fast forward the adds! It’s terrible when the satellite TV costs so much and THEN you have to suffer the miserable adds! What we have allowed to happen to us is ridiculous. Thanks for pointing that out. I stayed with my sister for a couple months but toured several places while there. I couldn't wait to get back in my van. Finally one day, I couldn't stand being cooped up inside for walls and took off up Highway 101 from Northern California, along the Oregon coast and into Washington. It was glorious! I love van life!!

I am a big bath person too! I recently got a portable, foldable, Japanese Soaker Tub. I love just sitting in the water in my backyard watching the sunset. I highly recommend them.❤❤❤❤

Been there.... Our 5th wheel broke in Salt Lake City. The repair took 4 weeks. We went and bought a cabin tent and had some great experiences and saved several thousand in hotel costs.

The kamper van only allows you a very limited kilometers a day, it could be very pricey, if you went a distance. ENJOY!! We all look forward to seeing where you go and how you enjoy the "high life" 🤣

My sister lived in one, only hers was located in an old high school it still had the inside gym with cement bleachers. It also still had the old lift in it that people still use today to move heavy furniture up to the upper floors.

From the comfort of my own shop (where I stopped working to watch 'what's next!'.....) I was NERVOUS on your behalf!
