Definitely wasn't expecting this news and this quote, but it is what it is with used vans! The upside to this, is that I am learning more about my van mechanically.
Right now, the focus is the build the van while I have the space and man power!

I pumped out as much of the transmission fluid as I could with a hand pump. Then added the same amount of fluid and added one tube of shudder fix. No more shudder!!! The flush is a different process that a lot of mechanics don't recommend. Have your bf change the fluid not flush 2015 Transit passenger van. I'm going to drive a few weeks and do it again. The transmission holds about 13 quarts and you can only pump out 3 to 4 quarts. That's why I plan to repeat the process 2 or 3 times. This is working for me so far. The fluid that came out looked really bad! Good luck! I just got my van too and started having this same problem 103,000 mile Make sure you use the proper transmission fluid I found videos on KZbin that show how to do this

I did the fluid change myself for around $70 with buying the pump. I wouldn't drive it too much until I got the shudder out

Used Van - $5000 Torque converter - $500 The look on her mechanic boyfriend's face when she tells him she bought a HD truck without an inspection, and now he has to drop the transmission on his day off - $pricless$

Now ya know why you got such a great deal. Why would you start pouring money into a conversion before you know the van is in top shape? You are fortunate that you don't have the rig already built out before discovering there are major problems with the van.

Not really that major of a problem if you decided to learn and fix it yourself. It is a big issue if you decided to pay the outrageous dealer labor rates, now that would be not smart
