Rather than jump cables which are quite bulky I would recommend a lithium jump starter. The huge advantage, apart from compact size, is that you can jump start yourself. You don't need a donor vehicle. Yes, they need to be regularly charged but that's a small price to pay and easily enough done when you have other things to charge anyway.

YES! Very good point! Definitely must invest in one of those guys!! thankfully we have only needed the jump leads once but your right! we should get a little starter pack for sure. any recommendations?
