That was a very interesting expense breakdown, no real surprises that the biggy was fuel etc. You have done brilliantly on the balancing act of experiencing culture, supporting local culture .... But not giving free reign to upward spiralling costs. You have nailed the 'needs against wants!' Sardinia sunshine is looking glorious from my armchair viewing...have you been kind to Flora and moved and stretched her moving parts on the camp site for her own well being yet? It would be interesting to see how your daily/weekly routines are operating in your current lockdown lifestyle...what has been a major surprise (if anything). Yes, it's more-or-less what we expected. Think we've done okay, when we set our budget before leaving it was a bit of a stab in the dark so quite happy we got somewhere close with our guesstimates! Yes, we moved Flora yesterday. Battery was a bit flat but thankfully the Sardinian sun soon topped it up and we did a few slow laps of the car park. It was nice to move, albeit right back to where we left :P Good video idea! We'll jot it down :) Hope you're well.

@@FloraTheNoviceExplorers all is well this end, luckily we have a garden so the lockdown is eased a bit for us. Our van was to do a three week tour of the Highlands this April but on hold until we see where this covid 19 takes us! My dad is in full lockdown for the twelve weeks and by the looks of things it will be longer if no vaccine. Drop off his shopping at the door once a week and Skype him each night... He has hit the kindle with a vengeance. Lol.

Nice one 👍🏼 trying local food and drink is all part of it, I couldn't visit new countries and not indulge in all that lovely new food and drink so good on you. And the way I look at it is you have to eat home or away. Your fuel bill is pretty amazing for the miles/distance you have covered, got to love the economy of a vw t5.

I think your expense level is very good. I wouldn't worry about being slightly over budget - just look at the 6 months you have had!! Of course current van fuel bills will be zero but it will be interesting how lockdown affects the current budget overall? Take care and stay safe!

Yup! Last few months have been Priceless, we’ve been so lucky 🍀😊 the lockdown hasn’t exactly cost us more than usual but it isn’t exactly cheap. We’re getting a good rate on the campsite but 5 weeks adds up, so like you say it’s a good thing we’re not buying any fuel at the moment. Also we’re finding that we eat more for some reason... especially junk food 🍔😛

Hi Bob👋 in a way it has. Like you said fuel costs are pretty much nonexistent currently, although we do buy gas still to cook. The campsite we’re on has given us a good rate but it pretty much brings us back up to normal spending... it it could be worse! Hope you’re well!

Hello Elaine 👋 thanks for your comment 😊 we don’t tend to stay at campsites very often. Maybe once or twice a month if we need laundry etc. We had to spend two months on a site during lockdown but generally we don’t use them. We use park4night to find parking spots, water etc which is really handy. Camping for free is relatively easy and there are fantastic spots to be found! Thanks

Hello 👋 we don’t mind at all. We’ve been fortunate, Meg’s sister was able to move in to our property so is taking care of the bills etc. We don’t make money from it but it pays for itself and will be there when we get back... hopefully. So we don’t really have any expenses back on the U.K. as long as nothing goes drastically wrong! 😛
