Van Life in Africa.. Remote Islands in the Saloum Delta of Senegal

Today we visit the Saloum Delta National Park to see the maze of mangroves with their unique oyster undergrowth that sustains the local population. But finding a boat wasn't as simple as we thought. But we met a friendly fisherman named Baba Ka who got us a boat and became our impromptu guide for the day.

It was a beautiful day for the tour. Hard work to dry the fish. I read that rice used to be grown in that region but the saltwater in the groundwater impacted the stable.
