Super informative video! As someone who has to work remotely, having internet is crucial and essential to my everyday life. I use HomeFi and it works great for me! They have high speeds and affordable plans which is super convenient!

This is so helpful, thank you so much! Charles will be doing grad school from the road and I will be working remote, so this has been a big topic! Did you install the booster during the initial build? We've already finished up our insulation and shiplap so I am not sure how to do that.

Thank you guys! Super grateful you mentioned Wyoming / Montana had no reception because that's where I've been thinking about going! Was going to work out of my Toyota Highlander for a few weeks.... but now I may be rethinking if there's no chance I can get work done while there. Anyways, thanks again, I've watched a lot of your other videos as well!

Aw thank you Michelle :) We LOVED both those states however the cell reception wasn't the greatest for video calls BUT for regular internet use it was doable. Some areas are better than others. Download a cell tower app and stay near larger cities. In the area near the Tetons (Jackson) it was fine but areas that were more rural were not great. But I think cell phone coverage has changed even in the past year. Hope this helps!

Hey everyone! After almost a year of being on the road we finally found what works for us & what we think are some great CHEAP options for internet while living in a van! Can you believe we only spend $30 a month for 300 gigs?! Let us know if you found this video helpful and what other videos you'd like us to create for you below :) Happy Sunday everyone!

Thank you so much for this video. I am still exploring SUV life but I enjoy going to the national park close by and working from there. So, I do have a business but I couldn't figure out how to find the same plan and AT&T did not know what I was talking about. I may have mixed up the cellphone service with their hot spot service. Would you mind posting the Link with the information on how to get the AT&T business plan with the amount of data that you have? Many thanks.

We have 3 business lines. Each phone can hotspot up to 100gb per phone. Giving us a total of 300gb per month. Here is a link that will hopefully get you in the right direction. Best option is to go to an official ATT store and ask about the business phone service. I hope this helps. www.att.com/smallbusiness/bundles/?smb=true&WT.srch=1&source=EBcRNV00000PSM00P&wtExtndSource=CRU&wtpdsrchprg=AT%2526T%2520ABS&wtpdsrchgp=ABS_SEARCH&wtPaidSearchTerm=att%20business%20mobile&wtpdsrchpcmt=att%20business%20mobile&kid=kwd-303817158445&cid=1337118183&TFN=B2B&ds_eid=700000001883955&ds_cid=71700000049245043&ds_agid=58700004871710953&ds_kids=p41974296632&gclid=Cj0KCQiApKagBhC1ARIsAFc7Mc5Oc7IGyoGexs6mu-uD2paNvvEk2pjZsBhl8yda1L3S2bQLXLvFBz0aAnyVEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

@6:15, does “Verizon’s” offer rollover data in their plans? Just in case you don’t use all of the data you pay for, would they add them to your new plan next time around??
@vanhallaadventures2 жыл бұрын
Sadly no, but you can do a month to month plan where you just call if you want to get one more month. It will NOT auto renew. I am doing this now but haven't turned it back on in months. I just like to know there is the option if we really needed it.

What about signal strength? I don't have problems with GB, but some places just have really weak signal, do you use any kind of booster?

How do you connect with other RV and van lives to know if the Wi-Fi or spots good ?

I have a comment or question maybe you can answer concerning NOMAD internet. I have had nomad internet for a bout two months. When I signed up for NOMAD internet they said they had a router that works great for RVers however the routers I have been sent (4 so far) don't work unless you are plugged into AC shore power. Even though they said their routers work with 12Volt the ones they sent me do not. Did you buy a small inverter for you nomad router?

Is Satellite Dish Internet a good option?
@vanhallaadventures2 жыл бұрын
Personally we wouldn't go in that direction but I think if you wanted to have a dish then you would just need to keep in mind the clearance. We can go a lot of places RV's can't because we have more clearance. But you could totally do Satellite if you wanted.

Nomad Internet is awful. They have no phone number so it is impossible to speak to a live person. The email to contact them is a hit or miss proposition with more miss than hit. Now they no longer offer AT&T or cellular based connectivity where I'm at. After paying them $149 for months, my service was cut off without warning and was told this. AVOID THIS FLY-BY-NIGHT COMPANY AT ALL COSTS... THEY'RE NOT WORTH THE HASSLE.
