The Solent between Mainland U.K. and the Isle of Wight is the most expensive sea in the World per mile to cross. Despite that stumbling block we love Van Life Holidays on the Island with this being the second time we have taken our Campervan across on the ferry.
In this episode, we cross from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight, visit the small Town of Ryde and pitch up on our Park Dean Lowe Hyde Campsite.

I could sit and watch the hovercraft all day they are amazing things. We know nothing about the Isle of White apart from watching your videos and it looks great. We took the kids to the Isle of Wight when they were little and we had such a great holiday 😊 I can’t believe Lily was so tolerant at the end there with Emily! 😲😄 x

Loved the dog friendly ferry although thought you were driving along the pavement at the start and it was a cut scene from Grand Theft Auto 😂 What a gorgeous place, we have never been and didn’t realise how close it was to Portsmouth! Loving the hovercraft too, worth the trip as a foot passenger just to ride on that 😋 Dogs and donkeys look very happy, poor Emily but looks a lovely place to spend their final days ❤ nice work on the awning, screw pegs and a drill will save your ribs David 😂

Haha love the Grand Theft Auto metaphor. I would actually recommend the Isle of Wight for a day trip if you are in Portsmouth. It’s only ten minutes on the Hovercraft. I don’t need the drill for the pegs, I have Clare 😂
