I did a campervan conversion a while back. Bought a longwheelbase high top Fiat Ducato previously owned by Dynarod and an old caravan from a breakers. If you click on my logo you can see a 5 minute video of how it went. Good luck with yours and hope to see you back on the water soon 👍

Well done guys ...really excited about this project ...it's worth checking out other channels before you finish your design plans ...I saw a fan like this that had a good away kitchen at the back that you can use the boot doors (you would have to change yours) or a pull out tarpaulin cover to keep it covered whilst you cook...knowing you both ...you are probably into that already !!!😊...Campervan Build and Adventures bring it on !!! 🇧🇧🌻🇬🇧 😍

Yes, I'm into vehicle living as well as boats, so will be interested to see what you do. I like the concept of "No build" vans because I'm lazy. Plus you can pick a lot of the thinks you might want (like a sofa bed) cheap at secondhand places. IMO just like a boat insulation is most important.

Awesome! Yeah tomorrows our last Sweden video then it's all van for a while :). Yeah no build vans are a good way to go! We thought about it, but decided to have a proper go at building something as we've not really got stuck in with Talisman as she was good to go! Fancied trying a new project. Totally agree about the insulation too 👍

van looks great but don't bother replacing the rear doors just weld a big thick steel plate over the hole and this will probably stop them trying to get into it at the rear as it has central locking this should be an ok fix

It will but you will have to by some plastic trim to hide the seat belt casing. I’d rip the lining kit out and put a new one in.

@@ChasingCurrents if you do install one, consider a separate tank and using kerosene (heating oil)... I'm convinced it burns cleaner than deisel and only costs £1.06 per litre!😁👍

Camper Vans are great fun, I lived in one pretty much for 2 years backnin the day traveling around with it pretty much as a Mobile Shop selling Naught CB Radio stuff but it was one of those Crap VW Camper Vans that drank Petrol, and reliability of them is a Myth, it was a split Widscreen one, probably worth a fair bit today, but after Two Replacement engines, I finally scrapped it. Its only when you have one, and meet other owners, that the Comment "these things are bloody rubbish aren't they? " gets agreement in response/ sigh. Constructive stuff, go to Camper van sellers to get ideas, take notes on rough sizing etc, then look for a cheap Touring caravan with rotten chassis etc, but very sound interior as they can be a source at very low cost, for pretty much most fitting out kit you need ? Good luck with it, and I hope it turns out as good as the second one I had, which was a Ford Transit Diesel engine based Vehicle. Loved that thing. Best Wishes. Bob. PS, if you've never been there, you may well enjoy going around the Gower Peninsula in South Wales, West of Swansea. A good place to hang out for a while, plus great places to head for from there - Brecon Beacons, follow the hills West, Dip North and South along the way, that sort of trip could be really Nice. 👍

@@rachelmurray7605 Why not, lots of people rely on income from Tourism, and they've had a rough few years sadly. I drove my father all around Gower and places we used to go there about 5 years ago in Peak Season, and there weren't that many People around even then. tbh, the Fish and Chips were so expensive, no surprise people were giving it a miss. Pembrokeshire is Crazy Expensive for Tourists and residents too. 😕

@@brownnoise357 People who can afford to live in the Gower don’t need the income. People living in Swansea, a much poorer area, could well benefit from tourism - if only the tourists would come! Swansea has a wonderful marina, a brilliant yacht club, and the marina has overnight parking and facilities for motor homes too.

@@rachelmurray7605 To be perfectly Frank, the 9 years I lived in Swansea, were the worst 9 years of my life. the only Saving grace was the Gower. This was before most of the "Swansea Mafia" Swansea Council, were Jailed for Corruption and Criminality. Some of their Crimes were so Serious, it was decided not to charge them with them, in fearvthat the People of Swansea would be so Outraged, they would drag them from the Court and hang them from the Lamp Posts. I was glad to escape the place tbh. Nothing but Bad Memories associated with the place for me. 🤔 Best Wishes. Bob. 👍

Should've settled on a higher roof for same price. As long as she's mechanically fair, you're good to go. Doing up my own MWB van with solar setup. I want at least 2500 w of power. Still my own sailboat project ( down the line) would be the highlight of my life. You guys haven't already mastered that. You must be there excited. Van life's fun too. Didn't get the name though

Yeah ideally we'd have had more head room, but didn't find any vans anywhere near this price and in this condition. Ah that's cool that you're doing up a van to, lots of similarities with boat projects but definitely something special about getting out on the sea of course! We see sailing in our life for a very long time. But super excited to try something new again, haven't really explored much inland so can't wait. It's a Vauxhall Vivaro 👍

Hi guys, I don't know if you have seen it, but there is a channel called "Overlanding Sophia". They have twice done a van to camper conversion. I would really recommend that you check it out. Have fun with your new adventure !

Yeah the height is not ideal! We were looking at sprinters first but the price difference was just crazy, so this will do nicely 🤣 We definitely are planning some Europe trips 😎⛵️🚐
