Went with the Van Staal VR 201B because I reel with my right hand. Great presentation of the Van Staal reels. Ty

ppl bash the vr150 i love mines I've hauled some nice size bass over the old bridges out my east and the vr150 is a work horse so damn smooth and also my vs200 and vs250s gotta love them all my thing is make sure you always tell ppl even if you didn't or don't Dunk your van staals in the salt water still go home and rinse them off because the moisture in the air is filled w saline and will coat the reels shit it coats everything!!!! so rinse your stuff off every outing. don't pressure wash it but a warm soft water flow over the reels and and then shake them as much as you can to get excess water off and then hang them upside down to dry off or upside down on a towel and you'll be good to go

I love my vr 150 as well...actually caught my personal best from the surf on it with my 9 foot 6 salt x rod which is very similar in design to that of the airwave elite. As a whole, I totally agree with you that the vr is underutilized given the fact that it outperforms many other reels outside of the van staal brand.

Video really helped me decide to go Van Staal. VR150B has improvements I couldn’t pass up. VSX is my next major purchase. Need help deciding 250 or 275. Try a video on the rods you’re pairing with your reels.

I will def post a video regarding rod and reel selection for surfcasting setups...for a 250 or 275, I'd go with atleast an 11 footer. I don't have much experience in using anything bigger than a vsx 200 so don't go by my word on that 100%
@Fatstickk3 жыл бұрын
The vr has the skirted spool. You can also service both reels yourself. You’ll soon find yourself wanting a 250 or 275 soon for faster retrieve speed.

I have both the vr and the vsx in the 150 size !had issue with anti reverse on fish with the vr never a issue with the vsx ! But both are great tools

I don't know, the VR looks incredible but I already bought it for the first time in size 200 and I ended up selling it later, I bought it again in size 150 and in the same way I sold it, it was done very well but the pieces inside are very chips. do with vs200 and vs250

As I’ve mentioned, the vs series is more durable than the vr 💪🏻💯

Technically the VR is a skirted spool.

I thought the VR was fully sealed

The vr is not fully sealed..if that was the case, you would be able to turn the handle while submerged

I dunked my vr175 once and it rusted on the inside it was a new reel. I got pissed and bought myself the vs250 and it's going 3 years strong with no issues what so ever I only serviced for the first time about a month ago.
@rickhernandez94513 жыл бұрын
@@The_Striper_Hunt I had the same issue with my vr 175. I dunked it and it took and water right away. Never had a issue with my vr50. I use The vs reels now and only use it as a back up.
