Hi Jeff, I've been following you for several years now and I really appreciate your hard work in producing these videos and the work it takes to build a van. If I may sir add one small criticism here, I think it would help if you pointed the camera more toward your work than at yourself. It's not that we mind seeing you, you present yourself very well, but we would like to see more fully what it is you're pointing out to us and explaining. Appreciate what you're doing and I'm a fan just speaking truth. Press on... thank both of you.

I was also going to ask this. It would be helpful to see what you are explaining. Thank you! 🫶

Why don't you insulate the metal ribs with like ezcool? How do you combat the thermal bridging of the bare metal to wood?

Jeff, do you use a black backing behind the ceiling slats? If yes, what material and do attach it to the furring strips first before attaching the ceiling slats?
@thrivans4 ай бұрын
Yes. We use duck canvas. We staple it to the furring strips before installing the slats.

Awesome advice! What paint do you use for the shiplap walls? Is it a matt finish? Love the look of the white, but I've not had good luck picking a good-looking, durable paint for shiplap. Can you share the brand and color? Thanks for all the guidance.

We use Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane or Gallery Series (better for spraying). We use semi-gloss.

Jeff suggestion from a photographer and how George does his filming, if you use a tripod you can back off a bit, have the camera steady, concentrate on your explanation so as to not have the camera out of crop and not so close to you that we cannot see what you are trying to explain. You are a handsome bugger but it might be better to actually show what you are doing rather than be so much in the frame, again just a suggestion for improvement in my opinion, 50 years with a camera, and it frees u your other hand, try it

Good points. I was using a new camera with face tracking enabled. It’s like the camera has a mind of its own!

Get camera off your face onto what you're talking about! Camera for show. Sound for tell.
