I love the bumper system and plan it for my barn find. My concern is the brake lights are recessed. Just need an idiot to plow into the back end and wipe out your bikes. I am planning a 3rd led brake light above the rear window and a rear view camera.

About the bike rack... I wonder what would happen if you had a leak in one of your tires while the bike was mounted. Would it come loose and move around? Gotta say, the whole rig looks pretty cool!

I use my roof rack to carry kayaks of various lengths, and need access to at least one side of the the rear rack via the bumper. Would it be possible to carry an mtb + spare tire together on the same swing away, or would the spare not leave enough room? Alternatively, if there’s no mtb mounted to a swing away dedicated to bike racks, with no bike mounted would I be able to hop up on the bumper w/o much issue as a I run a boat into the roof?

Great system! I am also a mountain bike fan, but I have a downhill bike.. Would this system work for a dh bike? Is it really secure? What would you do when it would rain or snow a lot? Leave the bikes as they are right now or put some kind of blanket over them? Keep up the great vids! Cheers from France

MrRemGamingDh bike will fit for sure! You can lock the universal carrier and then run a long cable lock through the frame and wheels! If the weather is REALLY bad when driving I usually take the bikes off the back take the front wheel off and stash them inside. If we are stopped and the weather is bad I put a four wheeler cover I got off amazon over both bikes!

I'd be very very careful with the plate of the spare tire...It could take a toe or two off when it falls off like it did. It needs to have a small wire retaining cable or something to keep it from falling to the ground. It's a law suit waiting to happen. Other than that, it looks like a really great system.

Or even just cut some garden hose down the center and slide it over the edge... that'll still keep a seal with the tyre and not cut anything if it falls

+lance putnam I think you can totally put two front loaders on, but you might want to stager how you mount them. We are now using Thule racks which are working amazing. We have a Sidearm 594xt and Paceline. The ThruRide 535 seems like a rad rack if you don't mind putting a tire inside.
