Good point on just little things adding cost, I think a well needed extra that should come stock is chain stay protection especially on a hard tail.

Noel is awesome. I was at Whistler last year around Crankworx time and the plastic insert that screws into the crank disappeared from riding (I guess I didn't fasten it tight enough when assembling my Chilcotin). Knolly had a vendor tent setup and so I went up to them and Noel helped me out and actually worked on my bike as well. He is a super genuine guy and loves helping people out. Also gave me some suggestions for trails outside the bike park that my kids and I would enjoy.

I love my tyaughton so much. I have a second one as a single speed. Put a z1 130mm fork on it. Loved it so much on my geared one I cut the fork down to 130mm for wa state riding and it transformed the bike. Rides a lot more snappy and playful. Can’t wait to get my fugitive 125 frame and get away from my carbon bike now

Very cool, thanks for this Nick. Way back in high school, long before I started riding, my friends who were mountain bikers rode Knolly's. For some reason that brand always stood out to me even though I knew nothing about mountain biking. Fast forward almost 20 years and I happen to have a Chilcotin 167. Love the bike, love that it's made by a small BC company, and the next time I get a new bike I'm pretty confident it will just be an updated Chilcotin frame haha (whenever those come out). Also very much agree with Knolly's way of saving money on part. NX shifts just fine, but put a good fork and brakes on the lower build makes so much sense.

Hells yeah, been wishing for some HT content!! And its steel looking super slick, looking forward to seeing what you go riding with it.. obviously im a hardtail fanboy, and rather than just riding, alot of ht content focus on the difference vs full sus. I think their might be a crowd of us are caught up on bikes, and just want to see more people go for a gnarly HT ride!🤙🤙 A hard tail is like a a kid or a puppy.. regardless how the make their way into your life, they will be the closest thing to your heart, real quick🤘😤

It was probably around age 17 or 18 that I learned of the "zed" pronunciation, and I'm actually interested in language. So I don't think she was messing with you. No different from if an English person came here and referred to a truck as a "lorry"--a lot of people just wouldn't have a clue.

Great looking bike. Look forward to your content with it! I often miss my hardtail (Whyte 905), it was a ton of fun. But I tell you what, I often felt pretty beat up after a day thrashing around on it on the trails I like to ride. It slowly got ridden less and less to the point where I did not see the point of keeping it any more and sold it. Although recently I sort of want a hardtail again, just as something that is a change of pace. 😁
