It’s super cool, I’d suggest adding it in the next time youre up in Nanaimo.

Such a unique trail to ride. Nanaimo at its best for technical XC

Wow. So much to memorize. I would need to walk it first a few dozen times, then ride it about a hundred times before feeling fully confident from beginning to end.

Wow how did I not see this video previously talk about some amazing lines, features, and views. And was that a pond that was just chilling on the side of a cliff you mentioned .

Haha ya that trail goes through some incredible terrain. Could not have picked a harder place to build a trail really which is why its taken them years to build. Still have not ridden another trail like it

Nice trail! Whew, you didn't need any more exercise that day!

Haha the ideal time for exercise was long BEFORE this ride 😅

Does the old rockface with the big long downhill log ride beside it still exist at the abyss? or did it get logged? Rode creeper back in 2018 I think, I was pretty gassed from all the ups and downs but very cool!
@deantennantmtb7 ай бұрын
The rock face is still rideable and awesome but the log ride unfortunately rotted away 😕

I'm smooth brain and have accidentally rode up this one cause the Trailforks App is hard, most of the time I cant tell what direction a trails supposed to be, and most of the time I just kinda wing it and try to hit as many trails in a trailnetwork as possible, I'm often left going uphill on a mainly downhill as my only way back. Most of the tech features on this one probably only work one way, as i remember having to walk alot of it being that I was trying to get up to the abyss from the road you ended on lol. SMOOTH BRAIN GANG.

It was hard enough riding this trail in the correct direction!

This looks demanding and gotta stay dialed and not tired. Early season rides are brutal physically. There is not a trainer in the world that get ya ready for this stuff. Great riding as usual.
@deantennantmtb8 ай бұрын
I was not prepared for how physical and technically challenging this trail was! The hard breathing is evidence 😅, but like you said I’m not sure I would approach it any differently than to just dive in and tackle it. Cheers Pete 🍻

@@deantennantmtb This is a Jeff Lenosky kind of trail. I would like to see him ride some in the PNW, maybe with you??? btw any human would be breathing hard on that one... both aerobic and anaerobic conditioning are taxed w a trials-oriented trail. Going ridin... the weather just broke, Cheers.

Al seems like a real jerk to me. Not only did he clean everything on the trail, but he only gave you one break!!! Hahaha. (I've ridden the trail a few times and love it. One of my top 10 trails ever)😊😊
@deantennantmtb8 ай бұрын
Lol! Well Al is the current Strava KOM holder so it was indeed a challenge to keep him in sight especially riding first time 🥵
