3:49 common thing to happen, leaving parking brake on when its wet and it seizes stuck to the brake drum locking the wheels. This generally is fixed when its not slippery outside as the tire friction breaks it free, but I've had it happen multiple times where I had to get to somewhere with dry road to unstick the rear brake drums.

I was only in Vancouver for a week this year but in that time I almost got run down on my bike a half dozen times from Richmond to Surrey by people running red lights, not paying attention, and driving in bike lanes.

8:19 is Shell & Williams in Richmond. It’s a terrible intersection with a 2-way Stop when it actually deserves a light. Some people just plough right through not realizing Williams is a busy street

Yep, Lower Mainland at it’s finest. Nothing like rush hour mornings headed east on the #1, stuck going up the hill towards 264 because dump trucks with trailers are taking all 3 lanes. And being squeezed into the HOV lane by another trucker.

2:39 I my dad’s employer was driving a flatbed through that light back in 2011-2013ish the flatbed flipped and caused multiple fractures and nerve damage, leading to him being permanently paralyzed, and lifted out by aircraft. The other driver suffer only a minor neck injury. This was one of the most devastating crashes.

have driven in the lower mainland for the last decade and i will say while its been crazy, and got a bit crazier in the last 5 years, some of the 'almosts' i've witnessed during pandemic have been unreal. guessing a lot of people are driving less and losing a bit of muscle memory/attentiveness. b safe out there folks.

As a former bike messenger in Toronto, I'm afraid it's not just in Vancouver. I stopped for red lights, never stopped thinking of the laws of physics and kept up with traffic speed for safety reasons yet I got hit 21 times in 2 1/2 years. People seem to have lost the ability to have impulse control, it's amazing what they do on impulse. Then cell phones came along.

4:09 legally your supposed to drive with the hood open (looking under the u shape of the hood) and only pull over when it’s safe to do so with enough space. A bridge wouldn’t qualify so that person was in the right there

6:56 I see people in car shares (evo, modo, car2go, etc) doing this stuff all the time and a lot of them end up in accidents. I feel people who use car shares rarely get behind the wheel and therefore forget basic driving skills.
