My Mom loved vandal hearts when I was little, who knows how she came across an obscure turn-based JRPG like this but she really loved it and I still remember and love the soundtrack to these games today. So good.

Just an amazing soundtrack, Mr. Tamawari does ridiculous things with rhythm while still keeping nearly all of his melodies catchy and memorable. An exceptional composer, and a very kind man to boot; I spoke to both him and his wife over e-mail and they were happy to reminisce with a fan! Thank you loads for the upload.

@@Atma505 these Vandal Hearts Composition Sounds follow me since 1997 with Ash Lamberts Story vs Magnus Dunbar, Dolf Crowley and Kane Spites. The music is simply different and hits in a melancholic way very hard. People who know this Game for 20 Years when they played it as kids may understand the feeling in the chest when they hear these sounds. Sad that Iam not rich to pay Konami the whole Costs for a VH 1 Remaster on Ps5 with the same chars. Something like Xenos Survival Retreat as the main enemy or something

Best soundtrack out of any game ever created. And I take a lot of soundtracks in mind when writing that. Also one of the greatest games ever, especially for PS1. The storyline and the way the music matched the areas and battles perfectly is reason enough. So much talent, I wish they would remake this game or just make games like this nowadays. Glad I have a copy still, time to replay. 😁

Amazing soundtrack indeed ... the only one I dare compare it with is Blizzard's WarCraft II ... as for scenario ? Goddard the Diviner is imho one of the best "evil" characters in games ... especially that written "fuhuhuhu" laughter of his, used to give me the creeps when I was a kid :p

Oh wow this brings back memories… I always loved Urgent stop of the train and Confrontation against enemies. The hard mode ‘cheat’ was amazing. i found it more challenging than final fantasy tactics. The fact that one enemy moves at the same time as your character added a whole new spin to these types of games. I wish they made more from this series.

@@Gritty1983 Over a decade later, and I still can't decide if that battle mechanic is genius, or really stupid. I settle somewhere in the middle, and just enjoy the game. This game shouldn't really be mentioned alongside FFT when it comes to challenge. With just a little effort you can outclass everything in that game and solo it with one character. There's no way you could ever do that in this game.

The Powerless People is a rip off of Solveig's Song from Grieg's Peer Gynt.
@awesomereviews15612 жыл бұрын
He did rip off a chunk of it, but I like the rest of his version better. The metal band Kamelot did the same with the song “don’t you cry”.
@miditemplate4011 Жыл бұрын
Nothing is a rip off of anything. Haven't you've heard of micro-adjustments that sound mixers do to final mix? This may not be the case with retro vgm that is reused, but combined with visuals, sfx and what movies seen some time ago (or real life exp) combine into full experience. You probably haven't seen that great old Simpsons episode where they stole writer's idea and the distorted creator ended up creating a more followed creation throughout society. An 8-bit song of let's say classical song is sharp and is forbidden in society not a long time ago (though nowadays it's very popular to use chiptunes in songs). If it ain't sharp, it ain't really moving you. But maybe it's only when something is really important, it pierces your mind.
@mastermaniac1911 Жыл бұрын
No more than Luke Skywalker's theme is a rip off of Venus, Bringer of Peace, and the Empire's theme is a ripoff of Mars, Bringer of War. There's clear inspiration, but only for a measure or two. The rest of the composition is entirely different.
