My question is how do da big schools weed out the kids who literally can’t have their feet in time and the kids who don’t try all that hard? Does marching band have tryouts?
@itzelPalacios-h6y Жыл бұрын
Some schools have marching band try out i think it’s mainly the upcoming sophomores and up. Usually some schools does some upcoming freshman camps that involves marching fundamentals and marching basics like in beginning of june or july. Usually in big bands they have a lot of advantages of like stopping playing bc and also being off time and off step but sometimes it may be quite noticeable

@charliekerr94013 жыл бұрын
They do have a huge band and a lot of funding but it’s also good directors, good writing, and a lot of practice
@iainoam25652 жыл бұрын
They have good directors and some funding yes, but that wouldn’t mean anything if the kids didn’t work their a**es off. These kids work hard to make their shows a piece of art.

Why the need to switch horns
@jeremyquiros54834 жыл бұрын
Just a guess, but I think the trombone he used for the solo is is own personal instrument, and the one he used on the field is strictly for marching.
@bysuke-3 жыл бұрын
Most of the time when there is an instrument switch it's mostly one of these reasons. For example in Blue Devils 2018 they used a raw brsss trumpet to stick out the soloist from the rest of the trumpets. That or in Bluecoats 2018 they had a different trumpet for the solist that they only use during solos because that trumpet is micd up to not deal with turning on and off the mic. But in this case it looks like to have the soloist play on their personal instrument.
@trentl7953 жыл бұрын
if i had to guess it would be that the one he switched to plays much better than the one he was on
