I was for Vanderbilt but I feel bad for Stanford. Why did Stanford have a pitcher who had only pitched. 2 1/3 innings. What insanity is that. Their coach should have pulled him out when the score was tied. For Vanderbilt to win on a wild pitch.

I get where you are coming from but by then the damage was done. I don't think you should put a pitcher in the game when there first pitch would be with the game winning run on third. He wouldn't have been fully warmed up and they might hit a home run. Besides he trusted him it just didn't work out.

Baseball should go back to the "live batters box" rule which was last used in the late 1880s... Basically once you step in the batters box you can only leave if you hit the ball fair, strike out or walk... If you step back the pitcher can quick pitch and sneak one by you. This would move the game along and add an element of surprise... Batters stepping out slow the game...
