Vanderpump Rules Full Recap w/ David Yontef from Behind The Velvet Rope (VPR Full Recap)

What's up Bros? We have a very special crossover episode with David Yontef from Behind The Velvet Rope! We got together to discuss this weeks episode of Vanderpump. First... we have to discuss the NYT article and Sandoval's comparison of himself to George Floyd and OJ Simpson. Then we dive into the overall state of Vanderpump Rules and how we're all feeling about this season. Then we get into this weeks episode and James is having a pool party at his new house. LVP calls Lala and Scheana over to discuss Sandoval and some of his recent comments and behavior. With fear of him self-harming she urges them to give Sandoval some grace. It seems as though a lot of people in the group are sharing that sentiment as they discuss easing up on Sandoval. This could be a way forward for the group, but Ariana does not take it so well. She's convinced this entire thing is Tom just manipulating the group to get back in their good graces. As LVP said, when it comes to something like this, maybe its better to err on the side of caution rather than live with regret. Sandoval and Billie Lee go to a cold plunge spa in a weird scene and it begs the question... why is Billie Lee back other than Sandoval has no one else to film with. Will this group find their way back to one another? Is fame going to Ariana's head a bit? Is Sandoval truly this big a narcissist? All that and more!

@Thedenbydalepie clearly you didn't listen to or understand what Ariana has actually said. She never said they can't be friends with him, she made it very clear that if they choose to stay friends with him then they will no longer be friends with her!! They are all making their own choices to be friends with him. People who make comments like yours are literally so annoying or just stupid! She set a boundary, as any normal person should (show or no show) if they can't respect her boundaries then bye! I have absolutely NO mutual friends with my ex husband period (and we share children), if they are truly your friend then they wouldn't even be conflicted in the first place! 🙄

Remember what Ariana burned with Kristen in the finale, goodbye to blind loyalty. She gave blind loyalty to Sandoval and Rachel and they betrayed her beyond her wildest dreams. She’s not doing that shit anymore. She’s been the most loyal person on VPR, it’s time that was reciprocated.

Ariana is not telling anyone to do anything one way or the other. She just knows Tom (and Scheana) better than anybody. People can do whatever they want and Ariana has every right do whatever it's better for herself. She doesn't have to move her boundaries just because someone else decided to move theirs. It's inconvenient for others but such is life. Ariana doesn't have to give them her approval... and they shouldn't be seeking it in the first place.

I think it's OK for both Lala & Ariana to insist that their friends understand that they won't be part of their inner circle if they are close with their exes. ESPECIALLY with Sandoval because he is not showing ANY remorse to anyone but is feeling sorry for himself and is blaming everyone else. LVP is not making/expecting him to apologize but she is insisting that Schwartz, James, Lala & Scheana forgive him. This is why he has been stuck in his ways and isn't apologizing.

@@BonnieP08 If this was a 'normal' friend group, I'd agree. However, this is one reality series with one cast, not two in one. They either are going to have to come to a compromise, albeit uneasy (as opposed to "me or him"), or someone is going to have to ultimately part company from VPR for Splitsville, USA. We got a sample of VPR without Ariana and Hatey-Katey last week, and from all indications, they were hardly missed, as Sandoval appeared to be on the come-back ... not to the same status, but no longer estranged.

I think the whole Ariana thing in regards to saying who can or cannot be friends with Tom isn't her being a diva or dictateing to anyone. Keep in mind she wasn't just betrayed by Tom but also her FRIENDS Rachel and Schwartz. She is going to be very triggered and trust from any friendship is going to be questioned and very hard to work through. Especially Schwartz, he didn't just cover up the affair but actively bashed her entire character trying to make her seem like this horrible person. Her creating boundaries is a good and healthy thing. She is dealing with a narcissist and they are very manipulative so if she has a friend that is friends with Tom she is never going to trust that what she says isn't going to get back to him. Worrying about that is going to be a process to work through.

I disagree with the Ariana take in the pool. At the time of shooting Lala and Scheana we’re going HARD on Sandoval so Ariana was probably under the impression that she was also taking the cue from them or vice versa. I don’t think she expected them to flip on her so fast. She comes off as still feeling like “we’re all in this together”

Just because Arianna is not on the floor curled in a ball, does not mean she is not still feeling the hurt caused by Sandoval and Rachel. To say she thinks of herself as a "Queen" is ridiculous. She is taking advantage of all the things that are being offered to her. Her animosity towards Swartz and her ex are well warranted. Swartz is acting innocent, when we SAW him actively participate in her deception. We saw his "mask" slip, displaying the real person. I don't blame her for not wanting to be around the people who so badly betrayed her. The other thing no one is taking into account is that Arianna KNOWS the real Sandoval (lived with him for 10 years) - she knows how manipulative he is and what he will do to get his way.

When scandavol happened I called it I said Sandavol ruined the show and I got dragged for it because people were looking at the success of Scandavol they weren’t thinking about how he really destroyed the cast dynamic on the show. And it really didn’t have to be this way but TOM is his worst enemy he is not being remorseful he’s not sorry as a matter of fact he’s going around pompous and entitled and production is obviously catering to Tom so it’s all weird on the cast they are being forced to have this unauthentic resolution to film with Tom and all the guy has to do is show remorse the dynamic would be different!

I don’t understand why everyone has to be forced to film together. I don’t think that’s what makes for good reality tv, or at least not good VPR. Kristen, Stassi, James, everyone who has been on the outs had to make the effort to get back in the group and it wasn’t fixed over 3 episodes. Sandoval needs to make the effort on his own and let them be mean to him and he can be mean back. They should film what his real life was like, not Billie fawning over him, but him shit talking Ariana and saying she abused him, all the things he really feels and says in the press. The show sucks because it’s inauthentic because they’re trying to smooth everything over. VPR is always one group of people shit talking another group. It’s ridiculous to force him back on the group because he’s a petulant baby who refuses to do the work himself.

Deff do a collaboration with Jersey which is my favorite. Telling you guys upfront, I love Teresa and Jen Aydin. My prediction, Ariana should move on just like Kandi has on Rhoa. They have bigger better opportunities and I honestly feel VPR has no where to go. I think after this season it’s done . What Tom has recently said on Nick Vails podcast and in the Times, most viewers are not going to forgive. Tom needs to go away like Rachel did, he has a real mental problem. I have really loved your podcast. I wish we could get back to breaking down the episodes, Throwing shade where necessary along with your banter. It seems like every show has extended conversations about needing to reboot, it’s not going to make it, we’re sick of these storylines… I almost feel like bravo reactors hate every single bravo shows, so why are we doing this?
