I can say it brought tears to my eyes to see how his love wasn't enough for her but she was still drawn to him in some form, maybe his bad boy attitude? or his barbarian-like way that he would do anything for her love. In the end she wanted peace and he couldn't bring that to her because he was a man of pride and he refuses to be branded as a coward who turned his back on who he is. I rooted for those two to make it in the end :(

I watch this video all day. Every time I cry. I can not listen to "Saturn" without linking music to the Vane / Eleanor and cry. I can not thank you enough for making this video. With the music or the lyrics fit them so much. This is the most beautiful goodbye to the Vane / Eleanor. Quite simply. I would like to make arrangements soon videos on them but when I see the beauty and emotion, perfection of yours and those also Darkelini, I tell myself that I could never do as well. It's just sublime. Thank you.

I honestly don't understand why they did what they did. It would've been so easy not to kill him and maybe even redeem Eleanor. I have to admit that I pretty much lost all interest in the show now that they killed Vane and I'll probably always be satly about it.

Beautiful job as always HawkeyeGin. I too am still having a really difficult time and have never experienced this sense of loss over a TV character. I just moped around for the week heartbroken. They stand by their decision but the writers are male and they have no idea the destruction that they have wielded. I too had a rough winter and Vane and these music videos got me through it. The writers think that this is just a "fav" character but the show has lost its magic now. I don't know if I care anymore about what happens. And I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that his story is over. They truly have no idea that what they really took from us was love, romance, hope, fantasies, adoration, anticipation, excitement, .........Thank you for your beautiful work!!

+Charlotte Vane The show certainly let a large chunk of its magical appeal go, which I think they'll realize was a huge mistake. They could've used someone else's death as a rallying cry and kept Vane around for the rest of the seasons. Thanks for watching...and I think comments like yours have encouraged me to keep vidding Vane and Black Sails for a while longer even if the show has lost me as a viewer.

Hey so I've been following your videos. You are right; it's really tragic and heartbreaking with what happened to Vane and Eleanor. He loved her way more than she deserved, but she was always fighting for control and power and choosing those things over love. I think 3x09 was really meant to get us to hate Eleanor and in some ways it does. I think Vane's words about her are true. She can't stand the truth and that's why she needs him to die. But I do think she felt something for him, as seen when she asks Flint is he will survive this and when Woodes asks her if she saw him. I don't know if I will continue to watch the show, but I just wanted to thank you once again for making these great videos. And I know you posted that this ship really helped you in a bad time during your life, and I wanted to let you know you are never alone.

+RachelRooneyR Thank you, I appreciate it. I agree that Eleanor once loved Vane, but in the end she certainly proved herself unworthy. Which hurts to say, considering they were (my gracious...past tense *sobs*) my OTP. The only good thing that's come out of Season 3's conclusion is that it makes me appreciate The Ranger's BroT3 all the more. If anyone unconditionally cared about Charles it was Jack (and begrudgingly Anne) and maybe even Teach.

I completely agree with the description. I just finished watching this show for the first time and It doesn’t seem like I’ll get over Vane’s death anytime soon. And the fact that he was killed by the woman he loved makes me wanna punch something. It’s so freaking heartbreaking. Tho I read an interview with the actress and she said that in her final moments Eleanor regretted killing him and that when she did a part of her died with him.

You know that I watch this video at least once a day since the day you release it? As well as all the others, very often. I miss your work on them. So much. I keep the crazy hope that someday, you do something about their ship. I know that the end of season 3 has disappointed you and I understand it, although I do not share this point of view, but I still hope that one day you make a video on them. Their story is always as intense and their alchemy always magical. For me, that's only my opinion of course, the fact that Eleanor kills Vane at the end of season 3 has something of Shakespearian that justly makes their legendary story. Who does justice to their love / hate. The fact that they are somewhere lovers who have killed each other, especially as the emotional development of Eleanor is very interesting shown as well. She does not kill him out of hatred or avenge her father. But precisely because she loves him too much. Rogers is right on this point: he was a temptation for her. If Vane had survived, Eleanor would have gone back to him. Hannah New said that. But Eleanor's mistake, a human error that can be understood but remains a mistake, is that she has resigned herself to the life civilization imposes on women. I do not think we realize the extent of what she has lived in London, imprisoned for months and months alone in a cold, damp room waiting for death and going out only to be humiliated in trials . This, unfortunately, killed her desire for a nation of thieves. But a part of the pirate remained in her and this part was Vane. Hannah New said several times that Eleanor killed a part of herself by killing Vane. And that's true. She tried, in any case. And without this part, Eleanor is empty. And especially unhappy. She begins to persuade herself that she can be happy in this submissive woman's life, that she can get used to it, she chooses to see what she wants to see in Rogers without it being reality, this man is a monster of which she knows nothing and does not really love, she loves only what she wants to see in him, which is not love but lies, she does A succession of terrible errors which lead her to death. This is the tragedy of Eleanor. Dying of her own lies, her own illusions and her own mistakes. But can we really blame her for that? For denial is unfortunately something very common in today's human being. It is a defect and a weakness so common that it becomes commonplace and everyday in our day. Eleanor becomes almost the most realistic character in truth. Oh, I'm talking too much. Fuck that, sorry. But just to tell you how much I love what you do. And I miss your work. A video of you, with the death of Eleanor and the death of Vane, finally united in death ... that would be exceptional. I would still dream about it :') but I can already thank you for all the videos that you offered us. Thank you so much.

Hello. Your video is beautiful. I can only understand your pain and your sorrow. I share it. I was ... completed. Because I saw the death of Charles but mostly it just made Eleanor. After several days of crying spells, where I ate nothing, where I do not want anything, I put the first seasons. And I over long reflections, analyzes, regained faith in their relationship. I know it sounds crazy after what we saw in. After seeing Eleanor kill him. But that's the problem with love relationships / hate as they were. In this kind of relationship, there is always a chance that one will eventually kill the other. And when we begin to love their family, this possibility must agree I think and prepare to suffer during the time they are loved. Unlike many, I do not hate Eleanor. I think she will be haunted from now and one day she will wake up. And that day will be horrible for her, I almost hope she never wakes. Because it is very likely to kill that day. But I understand what led to that. I think ... it's not just her father. Charles has always been the one who was pushing to see the truth. A face of things it does not want to face. To confront the things that frightens and weakens. It has always been the one who told him the truth. And nobody wants to hear the truth. Especially not Eleanor, besides love has always scared. Charles somewhere Eleanor terrified because he has always been the only one to know disarm. The only cons that Eleanor could not hold his mask. He always knew to touch where it hurts. I came out of your video even more convinced of this, and that is comforting. BRAVO. That's wonderful. A sublime final tribute to this couple ... unique. A painful goodbye but we can continue to dream about them. Courage, and congratulations to you.

+MissEleanorVane Thanks for the thoughtful comment. While I don't necessarily "hate" Eleanor, I've lost all ability to understand or identify with her. (Which is very difficult and feels very sudden in Season 3.) Her complete change of character and emotion is very hard to swallow. The worst part is, I don't think for a minute that Vane died hating her. He loved her even as she unfeelingly watched him go to his death. I think Eleanor cared for Vane, but the depth of her love for him never matched how he felt about her. I guess that's why I've always empathized with Vane more than Eleanor...an instinct that I guess proved accurate in the end.

Definitely yes, sadly :'( I can understand that you Some think Eleanor has been very poorly written in this season and that is the fault of the writers, not her I have always felt close to her, which.. that I can understand. But I have to be a rare case. Anyway ... Thank you for your wonderful videos on them, I do not know if you still will but I doubt seen your description ... Black Sails in lost something huge losing Charles. I think he liked it in the end, yes god. I think she, too, only it is not yet realized. The day she understood, she will howl but it will be too late unfortunately.
