EURO 2020 is starting very soon and therefore I decided to create a series dedicated to the EURO's. The matches in this video are from past EURO tournaments and the matches are exciting, thrilling and very entertaining. Therefore I call them classic. Hopefully you do enjoy this series. I know you've made more than one of these "Classic EURO matches" videos but I've yet to see you put Turkey 3-2 Czech Republic at Euro 2008 in one of these - I do not understand the omission of that great game. Some context: It was one of the two final group matches of Group A at Euro 2008, with the other game being Portugal vs Switzerland. Their previous results? Switzerland 0-1 Czech Republic / Portugal 2-0 Turkey Czech Republic 1-3 Portugal / Switzerland 1-2 Turkey Heading into the game, both teams were tied on every single metric: games played (2), wins (1), draws (0), losses (1), goals scored (2), goals conceded (3), goal difference (-1), points (3). According to the tiebreakers for Euro 2008, if the two teams in question were tied on every tiebreaker and they played and scored against each other in their final group game, and no other team in the group finished on the same amount of points (to prevent a three-way tiebreaker), said game would be decided by a penalty shoot-out after the final whistle, without Extra Time. Had the final game between them ended in a draw, it would've been the first group stage game in international footballing history to be decided by a penalty shoot-out. The Czech Republic took a 0-1 lead in the first half with Jan Koller scoring a header in the 34th minute, before Jaroslav Plašil made it 0-2 in the 62nd minute with a sliding tap-in. Hamit Altintop then set up a comeback masterclass, assisting Arda Turan in the 75th minute to make it 1-2, smashing in a cross in the 87th minute that Petr Čech caught and subsequently dropped allowing Nihat Kahveci to make it 2-2, before playing a through ball to Nihat again in the 89th minute to make it 3-2. We were one minute away from seeing the first ever penalty shoot-out in a group stage. And that wasn't even the end of the drama! Turkey's goalkeeper Volkan Demirel got sent off for shoving Jan Koller over in injury time, and midfielder Tuncay went in goal for the few minutes that remained as Turkey stood their ground and secured the famous comeback, following their previous game against Switzerland which had also been a comeback. Turkey finished the group in 2nd behind Portugal and qualified for the quarter-finals where they would face Croatia in a stalemate that would last 2 hours, before 2 goals in injury time (119th minute for Croatia, 120+2nd minute for Turkey) forced a penalty shoot-out that the Turks would win and advance to the semi-finals where Germany used their mojo against them and completed their own comeback eliminating the Turks (shown in this video).

Also one the greatest Euro matches in the Quartal final between England vs Portugal Euro 2004. Another great match the final Euro 2000 Italy vs France. Also England vs Portugal 2-3 2000 was great. Euro 2016 Portugal vs Hegaria 3-3
