This isn't the original, the only thing we have of it is the tape demo. This is the theme for the game SpyHunter 2 , and they changed the lyrics in the song Carnival more to fit it.

Wow, what a gem of a find this song is. I’ve only recently ‘discovered’ Vanessa after hearing a clip of 1000 miles on a radio pop quiz. Amazing how many songs are amazing on all her albums I’ve recently acquired (White Houses is phenomenal), and then you find other songs like this when you delve into off album stuff.

the is from a unreleased version of her first album the real name of the song was originally called carnival and the lyrics were totally different from these if you look up spyhunter 2 in the Wikipedia and go to soundtrack it'll explain everything about this song

It was originally called Carnival and it has different lyrics from Dark Carnival to fit the game SpyHunter 2 more, I.E. "Don't you run from the show, 'cause I just want you to know that I love anyway, and I will not let you go" became "When you get your bloody dose, in the still of the night, it is there you'll feel it most, In this dark carnival, where the end is close".

@@rhiannonravenswood i think the original rock style of the song from the demo was so much better than this weird electronic thing but the demo sounded kinda bad in the chorus because her voice didn't suit it. it sounded whiny and like she was trying too hard to sing while she was sick or something. in the other parts of the demo though, she did a softer voice like in this version of it and it fit really well. i'd encourage you to go look at it if you haven't already

It's both, actually. This is the version from SpyHunter 2, however, it is a reworking of the song demo she made, titled "Carnival", meant for her album Rinse. It didn't make the cut though and was instead reworked for SpyHunter.
