Just saw Vanessa Carlton and Stevie Nicks perform in Charleston, October 2022. Excellent concert.

This is easily the best material she ever recorded and played. I love her calm awareness. This is a human being who rests in itself and is deeply satisfied with her own artistic expression. She's very much at home in it. She always had great drummers in her band btw. Although I feel the drums might be a bit too loud in this mix. But the play is brilliant.

Rabbits on the Run and Liberman were also great albums. I actually can't decide which one of her last 3 was her best.
@cparks53 Жыл бұрын
I saw her live last month and was struck by this same awareness. I went home and wrote about how I want to find that calmness in myself. She’s so sure and calm in herself and her playing. I want to find that for myself

@@chupimoth1 I'm a big french fan of Vanessa Carlton. Her last album is not my favourite. I prefer "Liberman" ans "Rabbits on the run" by far ! "Liberman" is my favourite and i really love "Hear the bells".
@chupimoth1 Жыл бұрын
@@YrisMusique Actually after some time passed, I mostly agree with you. I like even her last album but I need to be in a specific mood for that. I'm not sure how it will sound her next album but so far she usually came more and more from pop to alternative and I probably prefer something between. I discovered her in 2011 when Rabbits on the run was new and that's why I was interested.

Lyrics: For you, the coast is clear Bury my fear, you’re the edge of the ocean The tide follows what’s right, And so have I You say “let’s get out of here” There’s a danger when you feel without thinking In this moment what I fear, I need the most I want to run but I won’t get very far Cause I can’t fight the force of my young beating heart Like a soldier steady march answering the call It’s the only way to love Now, we walk the streets The city speaks the tales of paramours The wave, it comes for me Am I brave enough to let go? We are walking up the stairs to your apartment... You open up the door and let me in I want to run but I won’t get very far Cause I can’t fight the force of my young beating heart Like a soldier steady march answering the call It’s the only way to love The energy comes Feel a rush It will move you The energy goes And you trust It will come back again Our hands will trace Out a map That is ancient Drawing our fate All of this pain An illusion I want to run but I won’t get very far Cause I can’t fight the force of my young beating heart Like a soldier steady march answering the call It’s the only way to love You’re the edge of the ocean...
