The last guy cracked me up! He was so obviously bloated with himself and he knew it too. I don't think he would be a good match for Vanessa though because there would probably be a fight at least twice a day if they hooked up. Ego doesn't go far in real relationships where there's real love involved. Not sure if I saw anyone for Vanessa there!

Jan's guy, what a great character! Sure he's a nerd, but he hit on a topic that I often ponder about: vision - and how intricate a machine the eye is. Very mystical actually. Jan was lovely with him and was able to help him open up because he seems like he has a hard time relaxing around women. Unlike with V, where they couldn't get past the awkward "where are you from" questions. It's because Vanessa is self absorbed and once she labeled him a nerd, he ceased having the least amount of utility.

I really like the brainier guy that was with Jan in this episode. I wouldn't say they're a match, but he just seemed so down-to-earth, nervous and inexperienced which is very cute. I think I favored him even more because of the contrast between him and the first douche paired with Vanessa.

So far Malcolm does seem the best for Vanessa, since they seemed to have an authentic connection in their date. I don't think Jan & Malcolm will share a connection other than on a platonic friend level. Glad how Vanessa handled the creep aka 'hip hopper', was worried her desperation would take over but her self worth won that round!

I wonder what that was about where Malcolm, twice, caught something that fell off the table, first with Vanessa and her knock-off bag and in the last episode, with a metallic coffee mug or something where he snuck a look at Jan. My prediction is that Malcolm has been eyeing her all night and can't wait to meet her and that Vanessa put that silly wig on Jan to make her appear less attractive to him to up her chances. Poor Vanessa, this is about to explode in her face!

I know James Wolf's character is an arrogant ass but there's something captivating about him and I think he fits more with Vanessa than with Jan. I can see them having a fiery love-hate relationship like Damon and Elena. For Jan, I think the eye guy may be the one for her. He's nice, caring, doesn't seem to have any serious emotional baggage, and seems to capture Jan's interest more than the other guys she has met with.

Why do I think Vanessa would have fallen for his schpiel if she hadn't gotten the rundown about him from Jan in the bathroom earlier. They obviously compared notes, so Vanessa got all the goods on him. Normally, I think he would have been the guy she would have gone home with. So having Jan there, with her cool, un-desperate aloofness and keen eye for losers, gave Vanessa some perspective on this dude before she encountered him.

Nina, I think the problem with Vanessa is that she is too shallow and cannot see past the nerdy glasses and geeky clothes. But I still believe that if Vanessa could see past all of the front room facade on Mr. Geek...they would be good for each other. Jan, on the other hand, isn't looking for anything at the moment, so she comes across as grounded and not anxious. That's what men see and like in her. It's the old conquest routine.

Yeah, I think I know what you are talking about. There was a movie called Magnolia and Tom Cruise played this repulsive sex guru that told men how to dominate women. This character may have been based on this guy. Tom Cruise was so good in this role too. I think he was nominated for an Academy award for it.

I think it may look good on paper with him hitting the clouds and her being brought down to earth, but there wasn't a bit of chemistry. He was better with Jan, i get the joke that Jon wrote a "vision" guy to play off Jan with her blindness, and that was cute with his little spray bottle he carries around with him along with his un-drunk glass of wine, but I don't see them together either. At least Jan can talk to people about something other than herself. That is what I think the men see in her.

I feel like Geyer is doing that thing where he puts on a front to hide his insecurities or something he finds shameful or that he thinks will turn women off. Or, perhaps, he is purposely turning women off with the douche-y behavior. Just as Jan attempts to turn men off by being aloof. I enjoyed the way Jan and Geyer interacted in, what, episode 3 I believe? So I'd like to see something there. The whole thing with Malcolm catching falling items seems odd though...
