This song is very sad. But is wonderful. I can't listen to it very often because, depends on my mood, makes me cry remembering me all those who I love, bur they're gone. Grandpa, Grandma, Sister, I will miss you all... forever.

I remember first hearing this song when my father took me to see Slava's Snowshow. They played it twice, at two very unusual, strange, and yet very heartfelt moments - first was at the very beginning of the show, where Slava the clown shuffles on stage and measures his own noose (it gets much lighthearted from there, I assure you), and near the end of the second act, where he plays with a mannequin wearing a coat, treating it like a lover he's parting ways with. Because of this I always associate this music with something sad but faraway, like a forgotten dream or memory. Sometimes it's hard to resist the tears when hearing it.

How appropriate of a name for this song, I believe it means "little girl of the sea." It almost sounds like a little girl's music box, and I can imagine looking up at the sun from under the waves, and feeling peaceful and warm, like a child in in her parents arms.

They use this song in "Stranger than fiction". It is, in my opinion one of the most underrated movies ever. When this song plays, you know it's going to happen and you can't stop it, you must only accept it and face it. I cry every time. Beautiful.

I don't know... When I listen this music, I feel both calm and sad. Not like some light feelings, really sad. I remember almost all sad moments I remember. Arguments, sad deaths from films (like Cosmo's death), all the big fails I've done. And this may sound strange,but after listening this I really feel better. I don't even know why, how does it work, but one thing I can say is: How good that I pay for Internet and can listen to this melody.

I hear this song and freeze... not only because its hauntingly beautiful.. but because deep deep down, I have heard this song before.. in my childhood.. my parents get all mysterious when I ask them if they ever played this song when I was younger.. they only say yes.. nothing else.. sometimes I think i wasn't with them when i heard this song... idk?? But to have found this song, is to have found a small key to my past.. for that i am grateful :)

Reminds me of when my now wife and I were courting in the seventies and we used to go regularly to the magnolia cafe in Blackpool pleasure beach. The tables overlooked the river caves and a similar tune to this played all the time. You would have to go there to appreciate it. i believe it is still much the same only now you have to pay to get in!

AdA is the best album of Vangelis IMHO. Simplicity and naked melody lines, hearbreaking, piercing to the core of feelings, very telling. There are times when I can't hear them in fear of their depressive influence. Other times they give me a hope, faith in a better world to come, real real world where every bit of live will be brought back and saved for ever.
