The Bounty 1984. This movie was fantastic. I absolutely loved every scene. Film industry won't ever be as good as in previous decades, as for example the 80's. It makes me want to cry 😢😰😥 this amazing soundtrack by Vangelis melted my heart. It's a masterpiece of music.

Vangelis composed vibrant and emotional masterpieces. I wonder; will there be a musical genius capable of composing a tribute to Vangelis? Vangelis is gone. Sadness invades my heart and soul. His music, which I have treasured since my youth, is the only consolation I have left. His work will forever be part of human consciousness and will travel to eternity through the talents and achievements of mankind. Glory to Vangelis! A genius of our time.

One of the most underated movies of all time! Anthony Hopkins was excellent as Captain Bligh. A real prick but you felt empathy for him.

Bligh's devotion to the Royal Navy and his wife in this version was incredible. Nobody in England need know if he indulged in the pleasures of Tahiti, but his honor did not allow him to do so. His temper was what caused the mutiny....and this is an excellent telling of the tale.

It is a great movie indeed - music of course is also great, but seems there is much controversy surrounding the original compositions, did Vangelis ever release an official version ? and if not, do you have any idea why ? just asking as you seem to have been involved on the production of the film ;)

The Bounty was one of my favourite films of all time. It was introduced to me by my late father. Anthony Hopkins was amazing as Lt William Bligh and Mel Gibson and Liam Neeson et al were fantastic too! Reading the true story of how he and his shipmates aboard the Bounty's launch were able to navigate to Kupang from Tofua was extremely stimulating, and shows that we as a species are capable of anything if we put our minds to it. Love this music and this movie and the history of Bligh and Fletcher Christian, and it was very sad what happened between them as friends. I love this film!!
@pix0468 жыл бұрын
Well said. Interesting that in the context of the movie one can easily see what happened from the point of view of Christian and Bligh. It was a crazy situation. The supporting cast were excellent, too. Like you said, Neeson. Also, Bernard Hill, Neil Morrisey (behaving badly!) Phil Davis. Not to mention the performances from the Tahitians.

A ritmus, a leállások... Elképesztő, minden ott, ahol lennie kell... Amilyet nem tud akárki...
@energiavamp4 жыл бұрын

Anyone got a clue why the drums were undermixed in the official release of the closing titles? I like the composition as a whole very much and am clueless as to why this has never seen an official release on one of his 80's or 90's albums. But lately, as I was browsing KZbin for unknown Vangelis stuff, I got around many more bootlegs that have never seen an official release, at least not approved and/or authored by Vangelis.
