I stopped listening to his song for many days Idk why but 2 days ago suddenly I started listening "message" by vangelis. And it was raining outside at the same time. I was wondering how he made the music so much soulful. Today i was scrolling through comments in one of his songs where i spot a comment R.i.p. Which literally shocked me...

Learning everything about tools..lol My dad passed in February. I've tried half heartedly to find this song the past few months with no luck. Yesterday I was digging through an old abandoned storage compartment and came across a 1981 vinyl in a perfect sleeve with the words "Chariots of Fire" written across the top. I knew right away I had found that song. I tried to get an old record player to work today, and after failing I came to KZbin. Thank you whoever posted this.

Does everyone grasp the importance of this moment? The people that lived during the great classical music movement of the late 1700's and early 1800"s surely appreciated the level of masterpieces that were produced. We, if for not the one great maestro of this century Vangelis, have very little mantle of such. Thank you, Maestro, what an honor to have witnessed your brilliance in my lifetime.

When the case was brought to court, Vangelis played in front of the judge to explain his method of composition. Dear Vangelis, I just want to let you know, whenever your soul may be ascending to, is similar to what you left to us in this world. The burning tears that I had for my late father who passed away on January 12, 2020 is the very same as of May 17, 2022. I believe many also felt the same. You spoke of love, courage, sympathy, greatness and hope like no one else could. When it was and will be difficult, you were the father; friend; light; closer to God and to nature itself for every single heart that listened to you. And for that, I really do hope that heavens exist so we/I can thank you there. All that is left is to carry the blissful smile in honor of your existence that happened once in a lifetime. May your spirit of sound never rest and echo for eternities.

So sorry to hear of Vangelis' passing. A treasured childhood memory of mine is watching my brother practice this on the piano when I was barely tall enough to peer over the keyboard. I thought it was beautiful music even at that young age and have loved it all my life, and now my own children do, too. Was really cool to have a run along the beach this scene is from with the family several years ago when we were all in Scotland together. Thanks for all the music and memories, Vangelis.

Had my own “Chariots of Fire” moment around 10 years ago. I used to run cross-country competitively in college. We had a stretch of naturally occurring trails that ran through various farms and towns in a valley area in upstate New York. Open land and crop fields as far as the eye could see. Anyway, a few of the boys and I ran on a section of trail that went through one of the farms. One that had horses, no less. About 4-5 of the horses ran with us for about 300-400 meters before they reached the boundary of the farm and we continued on the trail. It’s an unforgettable moment that I will take to my grave.

THE greatest melody writer of our generations. With "Conquest of Paradise", "Petite fille de la mer", "Mythodea Movement 9" and this - this is easily the most epic yet soulful tunes of the last century. Feels like it's too much too big melodies for 1 composer to create. Vangelis' god-like music was the thing that made me want to become a composer myself. Which now I did.
