Thank you Sir so much for going to the effort of reviewing this tent. I have watched it countless times. After visiting the huge Go Outdoors store here in Plymouth, I was able to check out the various sizes of tents available. They have a 450 on display, but I just felt that would be too small for me. Another tent however with near identical dimensions from a different manufacturer is on display and that I feel will be the perfect size for me. I have taken two friends to come see the 450 with me and explained to them my desire to get the larger 600XL and they completely agree and both of them were taken with the 450/600 above all the others on display. I have a third friend I want to run the tent by and if she affirms I will make the investment. I camped with my parents as a kid and teen, from north wales to morocco and portugal to west germany as it was then. I think funds may prohibit trips abroad, but we'll see. I have ferries to france and spain but four miles from me. Thanks again for the review. 👍

Hi, how has the tent lasted since the video? Would you buy it again? Torn between this, the joro or a berghaus

Hi, the tent did well in the storms during this time (August 2023 in Cornwall). We havent been upt as of yet this year (will be in a few weeks). The Joro is basically the exact same tent (just not in a pretty pattern). never had a Berhaus tent so couldnt comepare. Overall I would buy this again and or recommend it to anyone else.

looked at getting this and it looked lovely but we were the same 600 too big the other a tad too small so opted for another but thanks for review

Yea, a 500 version would have been nice but the size differences between 450/500/600 are not much so im guessing thats why the skipped the middle one.

Hi thanks for your time doing this review I am looking for our first family tent and saw this. What foot print and carpet would you recommend can’t work out the size and after your camping trips are you happy 😊

On the inside of the little paper pamphlet thing on the front of the tent bag, it has all the supported footprint, carpet etc. I ended up ordering a footprint online but have not got a carpet as of yet. If you have lost yours or still stuck let me know and ill dig mine out.

Groundsheet = GP110 Carpet = CP008 It’s very similar to the Joro tent from 2023 I think. Very similar layout and sizing but the info above has come from the insert that came with the tent and I have used the groundsheet and it fits perfectly. I’m waiting to buy the carpet when it’s on offer.

Thanx for watching, glad you found it useful. In the main bedroom area there are pockets along the sides (both sides) sewn into the main tent. there is no storage pockets in the main living area of the tent.

I bought the 450 version which is more than big enough for two of us. Mostly functional but: 1: the nightfall bedroom is nowhere near as dark as I expected. 2: all of the pegs but especially the ridiculous pegs for the straps fromt and rear are pathetic. I have replaced the entire set with 8 inch alloy Y pegs. 3: one guyline is completely missing. 4: it could have done with a mesh either on the main window or the door in the living area. I am not too fussed as I got ghe tent half price so I have plenty of headroom for resolving the issues. One final thing: it was a real problem getting the tent back into the bag. Vango could learn a lesson and make these bags just 5% bigger in all directions. The bags as they are reflect a mean and penny pinching company. Overall I would say the the quality is poor and falls well below what I would have expected from a company with the history of Vango. 4 out of 10.

Comparing the nightfall bedroom to the previous bedrooms it is much much darker, yes it could be darker but that doesn't bother us as much. The pegs for all tents suck and always advise to replace them. Missing guy rope would be replaced by Vango if you contact them of from the supplier you bought it from new. Yes the door on the side could have done with a mesh but all the previous tents from Vango we have had dont have mesh on the side door so used to it. Then tent does go back into the bag fine if you roll and pack it correctly, the first time we packed it up, we rolled it to big and it did not fit, second time we rolled it smaller (placing the bag as a guide) and it went back into the bag without any issues. I would not say they are a "penny pinching" company as their products are good quality and we have never had any issues with them and we have had 4 Vango tents now. When we made this video the campers next to us had a tent which failed them in the storms and they saw our one and went and bought the 450 version, I helped them put it up and was perfect out the bag. I would give this 600XL and the 450XL a solid 8/10 few little things could be improved but overall it is a great family tent. I am sorry you have had such a bad time with yours
