According to the 10th edition FAQ on persisting effects, when a bodyguard unit is destroyed the remaining character continues to be affected by the effect for its duration. So the oath of moment would stay on the fire blade after it’s bodyguards die.

Also running a lone ethreal with 2 gundrones enables him to use through unity and devastion alone pretty good 70 pt 1 cp 4+ unit to spot also as it's gundrones give it the ranged profile

I'm pretty sure TUD requires the model to be leading a unit, so a lone ethereal wouldn't be able to use it.

The problem isn't about being eligible to shoot it is that the etheral is missing the "For the greater good" ability and hence can't do the action

Nick... I had also considered using lone Commanders to Deep Strike in for scoring Secondaries, but doesn't that give up too many points for both Assassinate and Bring It Down?

It can do, but they're both tactical secondaries that the opponent can't bank on For example, a game I played this morning using the Ironstorm detachement, my opponent didnt draw Bring it Down until turn 4, when all my vehicles were already dead

I believe the Etheral can be an observer unit per in the core rules, rules commentary, eligible to shoot (when not equipped with with range weapon). Unless a unit Advanced or Fell Back this turn or is Locked in Combat, it is eligible to shoot, even if no models in that unit are equipped with ranged weapons. This means that such units can be selected for any rules that require you to select a unit that is eligible to shoot. So this would mean the Ethereal can be an observer.

The problem isn't about being eligible to shoot it is that the etheral is missing the "For the greater good" ability and hence can't do the action

After a 25 year hiatus I’ve been really getting back into the hobby and lore via internet content. If I was to get back into buying models again I’d love to collect Dark Angels but after seeing lots of content recently it would appear that space marines suck in game play. It’s really putting me off getting back into the hobby. Do they really suck as bad as they appear too

They are not that bad in terms of competitive performance (but this shouldnt really matter). They are fun in terms of gameplay. And they have very cool minis. If you like the lore of the Dark Angels, go for it.

FYI Tak, you need to have all members inn the unit have the infiltrator ability to infiltrate so just giving it to one leader wont let you have the whole terminator squad forward.

While yes, it fits the theme of the week and it seems Tak is big into space marines. Having yet another color of SM was meh. Would have preferred it to be an army that is not seen much on the channel. i would have voted for Sisters.

I'm playing the vanguard detachment into Tau and watching this at the same time. The detachment feels weak. The main rule is pretty good, -1 and cover but the strats lack any killing power bar 1. Hoping for a good T3 else ny game over 😂

Tak definitely seemed annoyed with Nick this round. I would hope Tak is understanding that this is a game of strategy and dice rolls… you can play perfectly but the dice may not roll in your favor. I hate the obvious animosity towards Nick and the army. This type of animosity drove me away from my local 40K shop
