Went through a liver transplant. Spent 29 days at the hospital, 23 of them in my own room. My morning routine once I got that private space would be to struggle to get up, shower and shave and brush my teeth - learning to be human again. And I would blast this version of "Dreams" every morning. Sometimes watching the clip, sometimes just bringing my laptop into the bathroom, putting it on a sideboard with the volume all the way up. Having survived, getting back up, feeling the faith and confidence in both myself and the future, because THAT'S what dreams are made of... It's been five months. I am as good as new.

Van Halen, at least the Van Halen that *really* mattered, ended when Roth departed in '85. The Hagar era, and the post-Hagar era with that other guy from that other band, were an almost constant nightmare of lite-metal bushwa. I say "almost" because, even in their worst synthesizer-driven power ballads, even in their most tragic ersatz-U2 "saying something important" mode, you knew a guitar solo was eventually coming. And to be perfectly honest, I have yet to hear an EVH guitar solo that wasn't one of the coolest things i've ever heard.

I can´t remember any time of my life without listening to Van Halen. Since i was a little kid i wanted to be like our dear Eddie! I would grab a tennis raquet and air play guitar to all Van Halen´s songs. Eddie was my inspiration to learn how to play guitar, he and Randy Rhoads i might say ; Eddie will be always in our hearts, he will always be remembered as a great master and a model to follow as a great musician! He is resting in peace now and joining the Heaven´s greatest rock band ever! God bless you, Eddie!! And thank you for everything you did in this earth for us music lovers!!

I wish these musicians never aged and they could be together making new music for us fans. The bands over time slowly disappear but the songs remain with us no matter what happens. The memories of these songs for us fans bring the smiles and happiness in these hard times. When these songs first came out the world was so much easier and not as miserable as it now. There wasn’t any virus that made us hibernate and be scared of. We are so lucky to have this band and many of those that bring the smiles to our faces. I wish VH could get back and these guys can see the smiles they put on our faces.

After hearing the news yesterday this was the first song I could think about. Even though they have better songs, this particular one always brings to tears of joy. Your guitar could scream and cry. Thanks for everything Eddie. Your spirit will live forever.
