I've read all the comments, and I'm disappointed. How did no one notice that the wolfgirl in the thumbnail has a flower crown made out of wolfsbanes? Such a neat detail. It can either symbolize that she's actively keeping her feral wolf nature under control (in folklore wolfsbane repels werewolves) or that she might look, sound and behave sweet and innocently, but that she's actually very toxic and deadly (just like wolfbane is in real life!). Or maybe artist just thought it would be fun to add a flower that has a "wolf" in its name to the artwork. 🐺

Yandere is a Japanese term for a character type in fiction. It's derived from the words for "love" and "sick", basically. A yandere character is generally very sweet and loving but also has an unhealthy devotion to their love interest. The level of unhealthiness can vary from character to character, from just being clingy, jealous and engaging in (mild) stalking behaviors to being outright violent, obsessive and murderous. Most people define yandere by their tendency for violence, and think that a character MUST be violent to qualify for the label, but many (like me!) are more open to other milder iterations. The unifying factor in either case is that there's a certain element of extreme, obsessive devotion in the character's affection, no matter the degree of toxicity or destructiveness.
