Purpose is to restrict, not to encourage 🙏 Because as per HDG Śrīla Prabhupāda, Vedic literatures will not allow to open slaughter houses, as is the nonsensical practice of so-called modern society. So the purpose is to restrict, and by sacrificing before a Deity, in a restricted manner, gradually a meat eater may elevate his conscience and stop eating meat completely.
