Thank you so much! Kindly recommend a good moisturiser after using Paula’s choice BHA. Also is it okay if my face wash contains glycolic and or Vitamin c before exfoliation? Or should I be concerned about the face wash as well?

She mentions that she does healthy intermittent fasting. Where you're allowed to drink water. The anti aging benefits are immense. As long as we don't pig out on junk food/processed food during our fasts. Which usually happens during Ramadan. Here's how I see it, we won't eat it if it isn't in the house Insha'Allah. 💗

As a women of African descent, I can't say thank you enough. Most of the products created in the past were never studied on people of color. They have often caused more damage! I love your discussions because they are evidence based. Please let us know how we can support you( besides just subscribing to your channel). @@jamespham6166 this is being overly pedantic. Point is fragrance is the number one cause of allergic contact derm. in skincare and it's better to avoid it. No one puts nickel in skincare products. Lab Muffin doesn't say fragrance is good or not a problem for people. Lots of times you don't know whether you have skin issues till the allergy appears.

Your face and arms will tend to be darker because they are the parts most exposed to the sun. Your body responds by producing more melanine to protect those parts from the UVA and UVB rays from the sun. The more melanine that is produced, the darker those areas will be.

It’s so frustrating that acne-prone skin and oily skin is always bunched together! My skin is completely normal: it rarely gets a tiny bit shiny even on my nose and it only very occasionally feels a little tight after cleansing (but still doesn’t get dry patches.) But I get a lot of acne on my jawline and cheeks due to hormones and triggered by specific foods. Please can you advise on how treatments need to be adapted for acne skin that is most definitely not oily?

I made. Glycolic Face wash, within a week I was dark. I was using Niacinamide Toner and Alpha Arbutin Face Cream. Boy did I not darken so bad. I stoped it after a family member experienced the same thing. But within days of stopping it and using lactic instead, my skin was coming back to its original complexion. I still still use the wash for my knuckles, knees, elbows and toes(bruises from bad heels) and it’s working fantastic. I agree with you Doctor, Glycolic Acid is just not for people of colour.

Normal skin here! I have absolutely broken my skin barrier by using the 2% bha from PC about 3 times a week! I got acne from it! Dont do it guys! Stick to any kind of exfoliation not more than twice a week! The best combination for us is like Dr V said: mandelic + bha. There is the Geek and Gorgeous 5% mandelic + 1% bha toner, it is so smoothing and makes my skin glowy, highly recommend, but not more than twice a week + not more than 4-5 drops for the whole face!

I had a bad experience once I went to buy sunscreen as a black woman in a store I asked for some help and a white lady turned to me and said " why do you need sunscreen? And then said do black people even burn?" Followed by "I'm sure you will be fine you don't even need it" this was back in 2006 I was a teen It made me feel stupid like I asked a wrong question I never went to boots again, now I'm older I no better as my skin burns easily 🤷🏾‍♀️ but im glad you do this for women of colour

I use 7% glycolic acid by the ordinary. I use Korres wild Rose cleansing oil and the ordinary cleanser Korres wild cleanser. Nice cinemas hydroponic acid and I don't know what you're going to say about this but I do use a royal jelly propolis honey and bee venom moisturizer and then rose oil. I use glycolic acid toner maybe twice a week and when I don't use that I have a lactic acid toner and I use witch hazel

I heard that it’s quite bad for you. Like it can lead to skin cancer and it can cause rebound pigmentation. Instead I’ve been using alpha arbutin, so far it’s good and I can see dark marks fading a bit but it does take 6 months to work fully.
